Sprint To Outsource Jobs To IBM (At Least 1,600 Jobs Eliminated)
"Struggling to contain costs and mollify restive customers, Sprint Corp. today will announce a plan to shed at least 1,600 jobs while still improving its troubled customer service operation.

Sprint has entered an arrangement with IBM Corp. that will outsource many Sprint-related call center operations to IBM. As part of the deal, IBM will sell Sprint services to large corporate customers, giving Sprint potentially valuable access to some of the country's biggest businesses.

The partnership, to be announced as Sprint executives meet with financial analysts today in New York City, could cut costs and generate income for the Overland Park telecommunications company.

Sprint officials declined to comment before today's formal announcement of the deal, which could be worth billions of dollars in cost savings and new revenue over a period of years."

4. IBM
is already outsourcing 'their' jobs to India, so I imagine these will find their way there also.

5. Sprint Profits
Sprint also had a profit of $38,000,000 last quarter.

Why does Sprint get tax breaks and government contracts while they are exporting badly need American jobs? Its an outrage.
