Ricin scare pushes down US dollar

The American dollar has fallen victim to the ricin poison scare in the United States.

As a result, a Senate finance committee meeting where Treasury Secretary John Snow was due to testify was postponed.

With no significant economic data released overnight, markets have focused on the ricin emergency and the possible link to terrorism.

The greenback slumped against the euro in response. There have also been rumours out of London that the US might give explicit approval for a softer dollar...

Ricin isn't the threat. Corrupt governance is. What the ricin "scare" really means is that there is a treasonous, fiscally irresponsible fascist regime here which will stop at nothing to stay in power. In other words, this "ricin scare" is read as four more years of dissimulation, threats, and fraudulent fiscal policies based upon infinite debt financing.

8. Bush's Budget ....not ricin

I think it the effect of the U.S. Deficits projected in Bush's Budget more so than ricin. I think speculators are more interested in those numbers.

Bush spin is that it was the ricin.

right when there's an investigation of his office for spying on Democratic documents that's been going on since - oh, about the time that all the offices were closed due to Anthrax?
