IRS Looking To Do More Audits (On Small Businesses)
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/02/03/national/main597724.shtml

A restructuring announced by the Internal Revenue Service recently could mean that more small businesses see audits of their income tax returns.

The IRS said it would be adding 2,200 new positions to its enforcement, or audit, operations in 2005, having consolidated or cut back in other divisions. The agency noted that between 1996 and 2002, its enforcement personnel declined by more than a quarter.

Accountants said they expect more audits of small companies and their owners. And although the staff won't be augmented until next year, agents can still look back at prior-year returns.

"The feeling out there is that they have lost money over the years and they're trying to regroup," said Theodore Kravitz, a certified public accountant with ERE LLPP, an accounting firm based in New York.

4. I was audited last year
It took months, it took tons of my time .
I kept having to scare up more stuff, meet and explain my work over and over.

Ultimately I was found to be clean hower I had to pay my accountant $1500 bucks for all the hours and hours of work.

I am a one-person shop and my business last year billed...hmm... nothing. That needless time drain and financial burden still hurts.

I'm not even one of those get over on the irs types.
phooey.
Go afer the offshore shell organization mother f*ckers.

My neighbor, about 40 years, owns a tile and kitchen remodling business and he and his wife worship our "Glorious Leader". Ohhhhhh, he such a "tough guy", "he cares about America" :puke:
and get this, he (Bush) "is looking out for our interests, unlike Clinton" :puke:

Well, 95% of them are getting it up the back side and it's PURE JUSTICE!

By the way, they get a new SUV every year (they trade in the old one).

.....and again, :puke:

:eyes:

on edit: :puke:

8. I get really PISSED off
at people who evade their taxes.

I dont' mind people doeing everything they legally can to avoid paying unnecessary taxes. But I get really PISSED at people who under report their income.

I have known several "reputable" small business owners who have intentionally understated their gross receipts by about 20%.

Why should I pay for their fraud.

People who work for wages don't have that problem since they get a W-2 from their employer sayin what they earned.

But of Course that is not like the big boys... I know of one big corp that misstated it's expenses by millions....
