1. Slavkomae,
PLEASE don't link to the National Review.

Link to the same info on Daily Kos.

4. I'm still new here
Why are you telling him what NOT to link to and then WHAT to link to? Isn't that his call?

6. No, it's not his call. It's against the rules.
News articles are not to be posted from known conservative sources (Washington Times, for example). It's in the LBN rules.

If a conservative source is linked to, the original poster is required to explain why the source is used.

Good reason, too - we don't want an influx of widely-discredited conservative sources filling up the board, wasting everyone's time and spreading false information and lies.

8. BTW
I checked the rules. I can't find:

"News articles are not to be posted from known conservative sources (Washington Times, for example). If a conservative source is linked to, the original poster is required to explain why the source is used."

Can you tell me where to look?

7. Yeah, I'm still "new" here too...
Though I have a couple hundred posts. Still, I don't know the in's and out's of DU all that well. But I agree with you that the mere mention of a right-wing link (which was done, it appears, because that's where the breaking information was, as the poster said) should not be seen as "verboten." If I know anything about the people on DU, it's that they are wise, and can make up their own minds.

14. So if Slavkomae had written something like...
This information comes from a right-wing news source but it's the only source that I could find that has this information now, this would be OK?

18. I wish I shared your optimism
but I don't. Even though I'm a Dean supporter, I can see the writing on the wall. He doesn't have the national appeal.

17. Isn't this the home area of those guys like
Ashcroft, Gephardt, Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms. Gee I hope it's not representative of the rest of us.

He said the same thing a week ago during the NH Primary. I'm not holding my breath.

13. Lieberman's toast
He'll bolt -- he's just been waiting until now so he can get the federal matching funds for his campaign account. If he quit in January he would not have gotten that taxpayer money. He knows a good deal when he sees it.
