FCC to investigate Janet Jackson's flash
(It is)"unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime"

http://www.salon.com/news/wire/2004/02/02/fcc_jackson/index.html

The chief federal regulator of broadcasting said Monday he was outraged by the Super Bowl halftime show in which Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's costume, exposing her breast, and said he was ordering an immediate investigation.

3. NOW, this is something the republicans can really get excited about
Forget about 9/11 or the pre-war intelligence, or the "outing of the CIA agent, none of that is important - but let a woman show her breast in public and all hell breaks loose. Look for the righteous hypocrites to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

5. without a doubt-intentional
Look at the series of photos on BBC. She needed to get some attention to promote her new CD. Seems Michael has been getting all the attention lately. I don't blame them for booting MTV. Lots of kids were watching.

the news here is that bush found a way to capitalize on the event by claiming to be asleep during halftime. but doesn't that make him unpatriotic, to miss the last half of the superbowl? 8^) and since when does one "prepare for the day" by falling asleep? wouldn't it be customary to "prepare for bed?" and just what kind of crack was that, "you can tell me all about it?" would laura approve of that comment? heard by their daughters?

--------
Q What part of the Super Bowl did you like the best? The half time or the ending? (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: I don't want to admit it, but because this White House starts early, I missed it -- again. Saw the first half, did not see the half time -- I was preparing for the day and fell asleep. But you all can tell me about it. (Laughter.)

END 10:00 A.M. EST

important things to investigate. And what the hell are they going to do about it anyway? Put 'em in jail? Draft 'em? Tell MTV that they're vulgar and crude? Like that isn't a given already. Spend my tax money on something that matters you damn idiots.
