FBI prepares to release evidence in anthrax case
Source: Reuters

Under pressure to make public its case against a U.S. Army scientist in the 2001 anthrax murders, the FBI is preparing to release its evidence on the man, who killed himself before he could be charged, law enforcement officials said on Tuesday.

The evidence could be released as early as Wednesday and includes anthrax spores found in the office of Bruce Ivins that were linked through DNA matching to the spores sent through the mail, the officials said.

They said the FBI planned to brief victims and victims' families on the latest developments, most likely on Wednesday. Court documents detailing the evidence against Ivins also would be unsealed, probably the same day.

5. Yep. but the M$M will leak it out real slow and
and in such a way that emphasizes Ivins' guilt. And of course they will ignore anything that doesn't fit the "guilty" theme.

9. Ivins has no defense.
Trial by media is not acceptable. When the DOJ becomes a tool of the Executive branch, we must take over the courts.

4. Uh huh. Real evidence? Or, manufactured evidence? And,
any exculpatory evidence?

This doesn't pass the smell test.

8. It does stink badly, doesn't it.
I imagine they are scrambling to pull this together since they clearly wanted to close the case without doing this.

11. Did I read this right...that the evidence to be released includes anthrax spores?
Didn't they release enough anthrax spores the first time around?

12. Sadly, the Bush regime has proven to be so

corrupted, where lying is the norm, and has been successful as a way of governing--- many people do not trust a word the FBI or the CIA says or ANYTHING that is reported these days. EVERYTHING is suspect and to be viewed with a skeptical eye. There is no one who works under the Bush administration, yea, even the Democrats in congress under the "impeachment is off the table" wimpy, surrendering Pelosi--whose "investigations" or word can be trusted. So I say. Go ahead ye Glenn Greenwalds and emptywheelers. This is not a "conspiracy" wild accusations given what we have had to endure over the past eight years. This is the reality. EVERYTHING that is reported is suspect, thanks to Bush and his minions.

13. Greenwald is doing some of the best actual reporting
on this story.
So much else of what is in the media about this is pure dictation of the FBI and Duley's unsubstantiated allegations. I want investigation, not dictation.

It will be curious to see how they try to spin the innuendo into something resembling evidence.

Still, I don't think they wanted to actually have to do this and I wonder how prepared they are. I anticipate holes we'll be able to drive Mack trucks through.

everything gets pinned on him.

Gotta wonder why they didn't do anything about him before he died if all this evidence is on him.
