R.P. working on roadmap to pit Asean versus China (Jobs)
http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/NewsStory.aspx?section=Business&OID=43786

The Philippines is working on a roadmap that would center on how the 10-strong Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) can compete with China where most multinational companies engaged in the production of electronics and semiconductor products have transferred their facilities.

Trade Secretary Cesar Purisima told reporters that Asean members led by the Philippines would draft a strategy or roadmap to address the growing threats as more and more companies have been transferring their facilities to China due to cheaper production costs.

“We have to lay down a China strategy because the Asean electronics industry is being affected by China.

What do you do with China so that it should be included in the roadmap?” Purisima asked.

1. Where does that leave Japan?
It's ironic how Japan, once the leader in making things cheap was replaced by the Pacific rim countries, who are now lamenting that China is taking business away from them. Capitalism is good at finding the cheapest source of labor, but where does that leave the American worker?

3. It seems.
The good news is that then will qualify for jobs to be imported back to U.S. What goes around comes around.
