Rockets pound US base in Iraq - One U.S. Soldier dead 12 hurt

A US soldier was killed and 12 others wounded on Sunday when an American occupation force base was pounded by rockets near Balad, north of Baghdad, a US military spokesman said.

"One 4th Infantry Division soldier was killed and 12 were wounded during a rocket attack," on the military base near Balad, 75 kilometres (45 miles) north of the capital, a spokesman said.

Seven rockets were fired on the base at around 1:15 pm (10:15 GMT), another military spokesman said in Baghdad, leaving two of the wounded in a serious condition.

1. CNN just reported this... Said it was in the "Green Zone."
Seems loke every time Wolfie goes to Baghdad the rockets fly in that direction.

More Americans dying and injured for Bush et al.

3. Why are they always using the term hurt rather than wounded
There was a 20 year old from here who I assume was reported "hurt" in one of these dust ups. He is evacuated to Germany at the moment and when he does get back here it will be with his right LEG gone.

Getting your leg blown off is not "hurt". That is maimed for life.
