Wolfowitz visits US troops in Iraq
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3448653.stm

Sunday, 1 February, 2004

US Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz has flown unannounced into Iraq to visit American troops.

During his last visit in October, the hotel where he was staying was hit by rocket-propelled grenades.

"It's exciting to be back," he said, adding that he planned to meet commanders to discuss progress towards a massive rotation of troops.

<snip>

He dismissed criticism of the US's decision to go to war based on intelligence that now appears to have been flawed.

"You have to make decisions based on the intelligence you have, not on the intelligence you can discover later," he said.

Why doesn't he just pick up the phone, every time he goes anywhere near Iraq more people get killed by the opposition trying to send him a message. We're up over 100 dead in northern Iraq already this morning.

3. the man is out of his league as are the rest of them
"You have to make decisions based on the intelligence you have, not on the intelligence you can discover later," he said.

Did this guy pass eighth grade? Now I know why Iraq is such a mess. Logic like this, to an imbecile like Bush, sounds good--like it makes sense. Any thinking person contemplating that sentence has got to come to the conclusion that Wolfowitz is not quite up to the job.

5. "It's exciting to be back," he said.
What's with all the excitement with these crooks these days? Yesterday, it was the cheerleader "excited" about his economy, and now this.

Is the verb excite in all its conjugations the new buzz word coming out of their liar mouths?

6. Remember what happened last time he was there?
I'll bet his visit triggers the same amount of excitement it did last time.

7. he makes me sick
I guess he has to come unannounced considering the way he slithered out last time.

"You have to make decisions based on the intelligence you have, not on the intelligence you can discover later,"

Intelligence you have? More like the intelligence you skewed, lied about, distorted, misrepresented, exaggerated and other intelligence that refuted your case that was ignored.

11. He's a Murdering MF

Name: Paul Wolfowitz
Born: 1943
Employer: The U.S. Taxpayer
Conflict Avoided: Vietnam
Notes: Deputy Secretary for Defense - yet another Bush administration man in the Pentagon who has no idea what it's like to wear a uniform. He got a BA at Cornell in 1965. Maybe if we'd had a guy as bright as he thinks he is in Vietnam, it would have turned out differently

8. Hand picked senior officers as an audience
the grunts wont be there. Not the 18 and 19 and 20 year olds in the thick of things. They are the sitting ducks in this shooting gallery.
Throw Wolfowitz into the fray, please. Put him on a convoy on the streets of Baghdad, or on a road between Tikrit and some godforsaken place and take away his bodyguards. Let him become the target of what our kids and loved ones go through daily.
Shove his face into the face of a dying soldier and make him watch the horror of it. Make him watch a child die as a roadside bomb goes off. Make him, god, please.
It wont happen. But I can dream.
