Same-sex marriage questions debated

Both pros and cons are raised at Tulane

Is same-sex marriage a fundamental human right untouchable by government, or a distortion of an ancient contract that will damage society if approved?

Is a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union of a man and a woman prudent or discriminatory?

Those and related questions were at the center of an afternoon of discussion at Tulane University Law School on Friday that featured colliding points of view around the emergence of same-sex marriage.
