Reporter held for trial in Pa. courthouse gun case

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A former Pittsburgh radio reporter has been held for trial on charges that he brought a loaded handgun in his briefcase into a courthouse to cover a trial.

Former KDKA reporter Rob Milford is charged with possession of a firearm in a court facility and carrying a firearm without a license.

At his preliminary hearing Wednesday, his attorney, Wendy Williams, argued that the charges should be dropped because Milford didn't know the gun was in the briefcase.

Milford, who resigned, has said the gun belongs to his girlfriend.

Milford worked at the station since 2006. He also worked at Fox News Radio and CBS Radio covering everything from hurricanes to the Iraq war.

Dummy! I find this amusing cause this guy is a former Fox reporter, and that the station he was employed with - KDKA - is nearly totally wingnut talk with local hosts & Bill O' Reilly and Dennis Miller. They used to have Limbaugh.

They throw a bone on Sunday to liberals and African-Americans by giving Chris Moore who is excellent one little gig from 4-9PM.

Unless they can show a motive I don't think he should be punished too much but a couple of days in the slammer would serve him right.

Now if he was personally involved in a trial that would be different.
