Banned Camera Catches Bush Sounding off on Economic Crisis
Edited on Tue Jul-22-08 08:08 PM by roguevalley
Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

An ABC-TV outlet in Houston, and now the Houston Chronicle, have posted a video taken at a political fundraiser for Pete Olson, featuring George W. Bush last week -- capturing some embarrassing/revealing moments after, he noted, he had asked cameras to be turned off.

The first moments form the July 18 event find him speaking almost incoherently in admitting, for once, that his friends in big business had screwed up: "There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk ---that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments."

Then, making light of the foreclosure crisis, he said: "And then we got a housing issue... not in Houston, and evidently not in Dallas, because Laura's over there trying to buy a house. I like Crawford but unfortunately after eight years of sacrifice, I am apparently no longer the decision maker."

In case you maybe didn't notice, calling a black person a chimp or monkey carries a lot more negative history than calling Bush a chimp. I've yet to see it used as a racial insult when applied to Bush. Furthermore, the irony is deeper since so many of Bush's base seem to not believe in evolution.

I'm not saying it's fair for us to call Bush a Chimp, but there is a world of difference.

Seriously, though...I had read once where someone said that caucasians, with their (generally) thinner lips, more closely resemble chimps than black people do.

So why people keep trying to associate blacks with the lower primates, in appearance, is beyond me.

Calling Bush a Chimp is offensive to these noble and intelligent creatures. I just can't watch * anymore because I fear for my health. It simply infuriates me to see him and his pals get away with such unspeakable crimes and to have our Democratic Congress for the most part do nothing but stick their thumbs up their rectums. I've got to go look at some flowers or play with my cat.

intelligent and noble? Really?

They can be affectionate among family groups and downright clever at problem solving, but also greedy and violent. Plus, there is the shit-flinging.

Hmm, now that I think about it, how can anyone not believe they're closely related to humans?

I well remember the confused look a co-worker, a colossal imbecile who thought * was a gen-u-ine good ol' boy, got on his face when I asked him when * bought the Crawford property. He thought that * had the place as long as * was in Texas. Of course, Bush and his buddies gave them the booze gratis.

Is it possible that Bush is only a total fucking moron in public because that's the only way a Republican can retain support?

"Us good. Them bad. We must therefore kill them so no more bad. Are you with good us or bad them?" (Cheers)

112. Bush: Economy was "drunk," now "hungover"
Source: Houston Chronicle

That's the analysis President Bush, a Harvard MBA, offered at a closed Houston fundraiser last week. This curious video, obtained by Miya Shay of ABC News' Houston affiliate, was shot covertly at the Pete Olson event, after the president asked everyone to turn off their cameras.

"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk ---that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras --- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover," Bush said. "The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments."

Ok, using BushWorld analogy, the economy was drunk a while back.

Now, it's hung over. So in Bush's feeble brain, that would mean that the worst is behind us, right? Now it's just a matter of enduring a big headache and then things would get back to normal....eventually.

If things were only as simplistic as Bush's brain.:smoke:

"Presidents earn $400k per year paid monthly plus an expense allowance of $50k per year. The level of compensation is stipulated in the US Code. It was increased during the Clinton Presidency." :nopity:

Then, too, the poor pResident gets free luxury housing, food, a chef, cleaning, heat, electricity, and has plenty of room for his friends and family to stay overnight. He also gets to entertain in style for free. :grr: Oh I feel so sorry for his getting "only" a government salary.

Enjoy it now, ass, as you'll be paying plenty when you're out of the WH, especially with all those legal bills you'll have for the rest of your life.

Like an analogy some one else used to dumb an explanation down enough that Bush could relate to it. Probably made him feel slow.

Then of course he'd go out and pretend to do the same thing to other people.

It fits perfectly with his massive (justifiable) inferiority complex fueling his need to belittle everyone else.

It has already been said that they will settle in Highland Park with the other zillionaires. The ones that recently tried to charge Dallasites a TOLL for using a major east-west PUBLIC road so they could keep us riff-raff from passing thru their neighborhood. The proposal was shot down after bad publicity.
Guess they are done USING the people of Crawford...He has shown Laura's true feelings about the place in this video.

And maybe the fool needs to scan the Dallas papers about the real housing problem up here:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/classifieds/news/homecenter/realestate/stories/0718dnbushomesales.3dec4cc.html

Dallas-area preowned home sales fall 15% in 2008

All but a few area residential districts experienced fewer home purchases in the first half of this year, according to the latest home-sales data. Some of the declines have been sharp – including a 35 percent drop in northwest Dallas and a 30 percent decline in North Dallas – compared with the first half of 2007.

Overall pre-owned home sales in North Texas were off by 15 percent in the first six months of 2008 from the previous year, according to statistics from North Texas Real Estate Information Systems and Texas A&M University's Real Estate Center.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/classifieds/news/homecenter/realestate/stories/071808dnbusdfwforeclosures.644eb406.html

Dallas-Fort Worth home foreclosure postings jump 18%

Denton and Collin counties had the biggest percentage gain in foreclosure postings – up about 40 percent from a year ago.

With August postings, the total so far for 2008 in the four-county area is almost 34,000.

Bush wanted, in his second term, to stop the justice system impeding 'the flows of capital'. He wanted even less regulation than there is now. Screw him and his "fancy financial instruments" - he's playing the "gosh, darn" innocent yokel here, but he was a cheerleader for unregulated capitalism and profits for him and his 'base'.

It won't, you schmuck. It's not a single mind. It never feels "I'm getting older now, maybe I ought to get my act together." It doesn't have any friends or family to provide support and pressure to reform. It's The Market.

It won't change until the "bartender" "breaks its nose" every time it starts pushing its limit and tries to "get drunk".

That means government regulation (and enforcement thereof), you dope!

195.  'Wall Street got drunk' says Bush
Source: bbc

US President George W Bush has explained the credit crunch savaging US financial markets by saying "Wall Street got drunk".

"It got drunk and now it's got a hangover," Mr Bush said at a private political fundraiser in Houston, Texas.

Members of the media were not invited and the audience had been asked to turn off their cameras.

But somebody recorded the statement on a mobile phone video camera and it was posted on the internet.

205. Whoopee - Doo
This is another brainless comment by GWB. Wall street has been given the gift of nearly unlimited access to the largeness of the Federal Reserve. They are not allowed to FU. The Republicans label the corporations as being too big to fail and pour borrowed money into them. We the tax payers get to pay the interest on the borrowed money.

Due to the ineptness of the Federal Reserve and it's allowing the total money supply of the United States to grow to obscene rates, inflation has reared it's ugly head. The Fed is between a rock and a hard place. If it chokes down inflation then the economy will tank and the Republican party will take it in the shorts.

Without real corrections Wall Street will continue to corrupt and enrich itself. At some future point the house of cards will fall and intervention by either the Fed or Government will be ineffectual. Only problem is we the people will be the ones to suffer.
