Brent Rinehart's comic book targets foesRelated Links
By John Estus

The "liberal good ol' boys,” gays and Satan are doing everything they can to get Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart out of office, a comic book prepared by his re-election campaign claims.

View More Most Popular Categories... The comic book, obtained Wednesday by The Oklahoman, is expected to be mailed to voters by Rinehart's campaign, Rinehart said.

"A drowning man tends to thrash about,” state Attorney General Drew Edmondson, one of the targets in the book, said through a spokesman. "Nothing Rinehart says is worthy of comment or rebuttal.”

Edmondson filed felony campaign finance charges against Rinehart last year, alleging Rinehart and his former campaign manager illegally funded the 2004 campaign for county commissioner. A trial has been scheduled for September.

As truly disgusting as the comic is, I found it a bit funny that, on two seperate pages in this comic that he sent to voters, he misspells "pedophile."

1. "Nothing [insert neocon name here] says is worthy of comment or rebuttal.”
That is the most correct response to any blathering neocon. If we would have started with this attitude, they wouldn't have gotten very far.

9. How the hell could a Rhodes scholar spell "Rhodes" wrong?
The whole thing is a mishmash of grammatical and spelling mistakes.

15. He spelled it correctly
The "roads scholar" he mentions is a lengthy certification program at Oklahoma State University that covers road and bridge maintenance ... But, yeah, lots of grammar and spelling mistakes--he's definitely not a Rhodes Scholar :)

5. This is a brilliant strategy. Republicans aim for the lowest common denominator
so a comic book is perfect for a republican campaign.

17. I remember it very well, but
it wasn't O'Reilly ( although that would have been even more hilarious). It was, and I shit you not, Sean Hannity, Oliver North and G. Gordon Liddy.

Quick summary from Boston Globe: Set in the year 2021, the eight-book series imagines an alternative history in which Al Gore won the 2000 election and liberals went on to create a grim dystopia, with Chelsea Clinton as president, Michael Moore the vice president, a hyper-active Department of Political-Correctness, and the United States under the thumb of a corrupt United Nations world government. Meanwhile, Islamic terrorists no longer consider the kinder, gentler US government a threat, and have focused their energies on assassinating their true enemies--the arch conservatives who make up the resistance. Osama bin Laden, now the Afghan ambassador to the United Nations, plans to wipe out New York with a nuclear device, and it's up to our dynamic talk-radio trio to save the nation.
