Poll: President’s approval slipping
But Democratic rivals haven’t gained from Bush’s slide

WASHINGTON, July 8 — The American people are increasingly disenchanted with President Bush’s effort in turning around the economy and solving the nation’s health care woes, but that discontent isn’t translating into a boost for any of his Democratic rivals, says a poll released Tuesday.

BUSH’S APPROVAL ratings stood at 60 percent in the survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, a significant drop from his 74 percent rating on April 9, the day the 40-foot statue of Saddam Hussein fell in Baghdad and U.S. commanders said the Iraqi ruler’s reign had ended.

The daily violence in Iraq since Bush announced an end to major combat also weighs heavily on the public, with the number of Americans saying the military effort in Iraq is going very well down to 23 percent from 61 percent in mid-April. Still, two-thirds of those surveyed said the United States made the right decision to use military force against Iraq, and most Republicans and Democrats support the effort to rebuild the war-torn nation.

2. If the fucking media told the truth, he wouldn't
But, aside from rare occasions like Petey on the ABC news tonight, the masses of ignorant sheep out there still believe that Junior is this wonderful Christian leader who can do no wrong, the economy is "recovering", and that those pesky Iraq weapons will turn up any old day now.

Of course, the very same people also believe the fucking idiot was elected President in the first place.

3. President’s approval slipping
And Liberia is conveniently set up for the next chapter of the Endless War On Terrorism.

Charles Taylor was responsible for 9-11.

6. I think people's patience might finally be wearing thin as far
as other military incursions and "peace-keeping" are concerned, because he's getting a little too bold and cavalier about military operations and I'm starting to hear some grumbling not just from Dems, liberals, and those who aren't too crazy about him but from people I never thought would ever say or think anything against him. I think the grumbling is on the verge of getting louder and louder, as well.

8. Sorry, but a 60 percent approval rating is damn impressive
Let's see -- Bush was "elected" on a technicality. Three million jobs have been lost since he took office. A $5 trillion projected surplus has been replaced with a $4 trillion projected deficit. The single largest terrorist attack on a U.S. target took place on his watch. He's consistently sided with special interests. More American solidiers are getting killed in Iraq AFTER the war was declared over than before.

Excuse me, but what exactly does Bush have to do in order for his approval rating to drop below 50%?

And people said Reagan was a teflon president. Reagan has nothing on this guy.

9. Until.............
there is a clear cut front runner and nominee, I don't think the American sheeple can make a decision. Right now, what they're saying is, "I really don't like Bush, but who the hell else is there"? We as Democrats, have to give them someone. Americans, as a rule, aren't motivated enough to take the initiative and research the Democratic candidates. I've made my position here known, Howard Dean is the man. I will however whole-heartedly support whomever wins the nod for the Dems, and we'll get that coke snorting, AWOL, deceitful, religious fanatic, spoiled rotten frat boy loser out of OUR White House.

10. Zogby reporting drops too
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=719
Foreign Policy, Jobs and the economy, and the environment are especially stinky numbers.

The one that is really telling is this one. (40% poor performance
from the interactive survey) The overall opinion one on the site
also has a 40% unfavorable for the Interactive Survey.
:nopity:

Overall, how would you rate the job performance of George W. Bush as President?

Interactive Survey June 24-July 1 // Phone Poll June 6-June 10
Excellent 34.0 // 26.9

Good 16.4 // 31.2

Fair 9.4 // 22.4

Poor 40.2 // 18.7

Not Sure .1 // .9

Total 100.0 // 100.0

Sonia

12. So people still support the "daddy" party
Even when daddy comes home every night in a raging drunk and kicks the living tar out of mommy.

But they still love daddy.

Musn't say anything bad about daddy.

I want to see a poll where people are asked if they believe it is unpatriotic to criticize the president or his party in a time of war.

I want to see the people who answer "yes" immediately disqualified from answering further questions under the grounds that they just admitted that will not answer the poll truthfully. They would rather lie than speak ill of "daddy."

I wonder where shrubs approval ratings would be if people told pollsters how they really felt.

of damaging information come out. Please pardon my cynicism about the American public.
