Italien will 3000 Soldaten entsenden (Italy will send 3000 soldiers)
Sorry, no English news yet, but German Spiegel Online reports that the Italian parliament will send 3000 soldiers to southern Iran, where they will serve under British command "to secure humanitarian aid". Spain will deploy 1300, the Netherlands 1100 soldiers. Some of them are already on the way.

The attendance of Italkiens Prime Minister Berlusconi on the Bush Ranch in Texas carried fruits. Italy wants to send now 3000 men into the Iraq.

Hamburg - past week visited of Italy prime minister Silvio Berlusconi US president George W. Bush on its Ranch in Texas. A special honour for the Italian, a special gesture of the thanks of Bush. Berlusconi had nevertheless constantly carried the Iraq politics of the US government. Now thus further support from Italy. In Rome the chamber of deputies decided the delegation of up to 3000 Italian soldiers.

3. I hope they'll all be safe. Really! (Southern Iran?)
Edited on Fri Jul-25-03 01:55 AM by PartyPooper
I just become so agitated with Bush, Cheney, and Rummy being so cavalier about sending in "allied troops". Like they really give a s*** about people's lives. They only care about themselves.

7. This was my brain without drugs
My drug of choice had probably not kicked in - real Italian espresso, prepared the old fashioned style on the stove, but spiced with a whiff of cinnamon and a splash of milk added.

Iraq, of course, not Iran.

6. How many Italians are currently in Iraq?
I belived several hundred Italian troops are currently running a full-sized campaign hospital near Baghdad, where they say they treated as many as 500 emergency cases (including war wounds) each week after their arrival.

9. The US has....142,000 troops in Iraq?
Whether Bellusconi wants to or will send troops, 3,000 doesn't mean squat, not to mention, he risks a popular uprising against him if he does send troops. Since he's already made an EU ass of himself, does he want to risk another blunder?
