London prepares for Bush visit
Source: London daily news

Protesters banned from Westminster, hundreds of thousands caught up in Heathrow travel chaos. It could only mean a visit from US President George Bush.

The outgoing President is due to arrive in London on Sunday and several disruptions are expected at Heathrow as they practice for his arrival.

Anti-war protesters have been banned from demonstrating in Whitehall. The Metropolitan Police deny they are 'banning' anything but are closing the street for the Presidents 'safety.'

Police have offered alternative routes to the Stop the War Coalition who says Bush is 'dictating' their right to protest.

1. Queen Liz was "royally" pissed off at Chimp

on his last sleep over at Windsor Castle. IIRC, the downwash from the presidential chopper destroyed the royal rose bushes in her garden. I wouldn't be surprised if the noise from the chopper scared the royal corgis and made them piss on the carpet too.

7. The roses were planted by the Queen Mother. The Queen was very upset by the destruction.

If I remember correctly, the Secret Service pissed off QEII as well by asking to replace windows in the palace with bullet proof glass. The Queen said no.

5. The people of the UK hate the chimp. He
is about as welcome there as a resurgence of the plague would be. He ought to go to his pig farm and sit there until January. Just stay the hell out of the way.

8. Security for Bush will shut centre of London
Rob Singh, Crime Reporter
13.06.08

One of Britain's biggest security operations will bring central London to a standstill for the arrival of George Bush on Sunday.

About 2,000 police - including hundreds of armed officers - will be deployed for the US president's brief visit. Parts of Whitehall between Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square will be shut to traffic for more than 24 hours as the huge land and air operation swings into force.

Hundreds of demonstrators from the Stop the War Coalition will converge on Parliament Square from 5pm on Sunday to protest against the president, who is visiting London as part of a farewell tour of Europe before he leaves the White House next January.

About 1,000 Met police officers will be deployed each day during the twoday visit. A Met spokeswoman said there would be a highly visible uniformed presence as well as a "large amount of covert work".

GLAD to see a crime reporter was assigned to this story and not a political correspondent.

Shows just what London hacks think of this evil felon....

11. Lock him in the Tower of London and throw away the key
Or maybe the corgis will bite him.

I have a female corgi who is a pushy drama queen. She'd take a bite out of der chimp in a NY minute. Maybe QE2's corgis will do the same.
