1. That's it...that's the big one.
Clyburn rules most of the Dem party here.

Kerry has Fritz Hollings and Clyburn. They are the Dem party in SC.

9. I beg to differ
no one was paying much attention to Clyburn when he endorsed Gephardt and a large contingent of SC Dems are ticked off that Fritz didn't give the heads up about his plans to retire so that we could have saved Alex Sanders for this 2004 Senate race rather than waste him in 2002 running against Lindsey Graham .

Jim and Fritz are not THE Democratic Party in SC. And thus far we've seen what little weight pols' endorsements carry. Gore actually hurt Dean, and Tom Harkin did not help him.

This Friday, there is a huge fundraiser scheduled for Clark hosted by many African-Americans, this writer among them. Clyburn does not tell us how to vote and thus far many people I have been speaking to as I campaign for Clark are leaning in three directions: Clark, Edwards and Dean.

SC folks have an ornery streak that doesn't care for these establishment Washington guys (Hollings, Clyburn, Kerry ...). They're looking for new blood and someone to roil the waters.

11. I respect Clyburn & Hollings
but I decided to go Dean early in '03. If Dean doesn't get the nod, I'd be tempted to write in Socialist or Green, but given that we might have a chance to oust Bush,et.al., I'll likely support whoever the Dems run.

I've heard tell that Clark is tentatively set to speak at a Dem. Party dinner here in Abbeville on Friday - I'll keep an open mind while I eat my creole shrimp. :-)

10. Your pic rocks!
I just love this forum. I wish we could all have a big party somewhere central, like Crawford, Texas. Heh, heh!
