Iraqi Whispers Mull Repeat of 1920s Revolt Over Western Occupation
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0127-08.htm

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Whispers of "revolution" are growing louder in Baghdad this month at teahouses, public protests and tribal meetings as Iraqis point to the past as an omen for the future.

Iraqis remember 1920 as one of the most glorious moments in modern history, one followed by nearly eight decades of tumult. The bloody rebellion against British rule that year is memorialized in schoolbooks, monuments and mass-produced tapestries that hang in living rooms.

Now, many say there's an uncanny similarity with today: unpopular foreign occupiers, unelected governing bodies and unhappy residents eager for self-determination. The result could be another bloody uprising.

1. And the beat goes on
I will be more surprised if there is not a full scale revolution. First against us as invaders and then against each other.

:argh:

3. Well, yes. That's exactly what we said.
Pretty much everyone in the world said it. Except for the people Bush parties with.

The ones who believe the darkies were happy being slaves.

9. World War Woosley may be an "expert",...
,...on the outside, but he is merely a "clothed" forecaster of what the cabal set out to do behind closed doors,...they will incite Perle's all out, apparently "final" war (about which he imagines all "their" children will sing). These people haven't a clue that they ARE "darkness". They refuse to question themselves. They are so consumed by power and fearful of being discovered as having any weakness that they have no capacity to level themselves in reality, let alone potentiality. Perhaps, these human beings are intellectually quite brilliant,...but, they are dead in every other human way. They are far more destructive than any other living thing on this planet.

2. This is what we tried to tell Bush.
But he wrote us off as a focus group. He wrote off the soldiers who are dying too.

7. "Revolution"?
Do they mean like the "civil war" when russians overthrew the "German occupying government" in WWII?

8. Kettle is boiling
I wouldn't want to be over there when it blows. I would like to see all my countrymen back in their own country so they can sort out their own future, with the UN if they so choose.
