7. What the Hell are you talking about?
If you are implying that President Jimmy Carter is dishing out some sort of revenge, then you know Nothing about him.

16. They were very wise to wait until the end
The added bonus is that we can say Obama did it on his own and that people aren't supporting him just because Al Gore or Jimmy endorsed him.

:woohoo: Thank you President Carter!

26. It would be a wonderful and symbolic ticket!
I doubt if Jimmy would do it, and I really wouldn't wish it on him. He is a great statesman as it is. But if it worked out this way, WOW!

23. I wonder why he waited so long.
The jaded side of me wonders if its because he wants something in return and was waiting until the near end so he could be 99% sure of picking the winner to side with and support the other less cynical side hopes it was because he did not wish to influence the race unduly.

27. Where's Al? It's acceptable for Jimmy Carter to wait it out this long,
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 05:58 PM by hedgehog
but every hour that Al delays now makes it seem like he is an opportunist waiting to come in and save the Party y running as the Unity candidate.

33. The Elder...
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 08:11 PM by Baby Snooks
Jimmy Carter is one of the Elders. Chosen as an Elder for his leadership, his diplomacy, his commitment to equality and ethics and most of all his humanitarian efforts.

Why would he endorse Hillary Clinton? She and Bill Clinton represent everything that Jimmy Carter and the rest of the Elders speak out against. To endorse Bill Clinton by endorsing Hillary Clinton is to endorse George HW Bush and George W Bush.

Jimmy Carter doesn't have 100 million dollars to show for his presidency but instead has probably 100 million people around the world whose lives have been made better by his efforts and the efforts of the Elders.

The dynasty must end. It will end with Barack Obama.
