6. i know

a 161 majority slashed to 5, if that happens again Tony is in trouble. I think this means it has a second reading in the Commons and it still hasn't gone through the Lords. If it passes with the variable fees in tact then by 2010 my university, (University of York) could be charging £10s of thousands for fees as its an elite university. Still i will be gone before then. :hi:

7. Just listening to the report ..
.. on BBC News 24. Feeling is that Blair is wounded: he's watered down the bill so much that it's pretty meaningless and yet he still nearly lost.

Welcome to the real world, Tony!

11. Chancellor saved the day

Channel 4 news claiming that Gordon Brown had to step in to sway the rebel leader Nick Brown in favour of government. Reckon he's going to replace Blair in next few years? wouldn't surprise me.

Then of course there's the Westloathian question, the Scottish MPs voting for Blair when the bill won't affect them, when of course the English MPs have no say in Scottish parliament.
