Kerry Lead Shrinks to Three Points in New Hampshire

By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential contender John Kerry (news - web sites) holds a shrinking three-point lead over Howard Dean (news - web sites) on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, according to a Reuters/MSNBC/Zogby poll released Monday.

Dean shaved four points off Kerry's advantage in the latest three-day tracking poll, as supporters who wavered after his dismal third-place Iowa finish and screaming concession speech appeared to be returning to the fold.

Kerry led Dean 31 percent to 28 percent in the new poll, with John Edwards (news - web sites) jumping three points to narrowly trail Wesley Clark (news - web sites) for third place, 13 percent to 12 percent. Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman (news, bio, voting record) remained static at 9 percent.

5. The media got smacked hard for that, esp. Wolf Blitzer
I don't write many letters of complaint, but the media hounding on Dean for no reason steamed me. I figure, if I was mad enough to write and complain, lots of others did, too. The media I'm watching right now has backed off tremendously on their self-made nonsense. I hope Dean wins this one just to give Wolf the finger.

9. There is a GWB video SOMEWHERE of HIS defeat
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 12:18 PM by SoCalDem
2/1/00 and he gave a very similar "rally-the-troops" speech, only he did not remember the actual names of the states.. I was so hoping that someone somewhere would ahve dug out that video and showed them side by side...but then we know which angle the press wants to pursue..:(

I have been looking all over for that video, but have not found it yet :(

3. Good because we run Kerry we lose..He is a boob..
Beltway boy who supported Patriot act and the War....Too many people fed up with the Washington Dem's establishment and to boot this guy just gives me a vibe he is a talking head boob..My prediction: Doom if we run him...Sorry. He has ZERO Charisma and since I have picked every election outcome for president in my life, I'm going to have to say he loses..OF course I'll vote for our nominee, whoever it may be but it will be futile..Edwards, Dean or Clark...The media is close to destroying Dean, they are trying desperately to kill Clark but I'm holding hope for Edwards...Damn, I'm sorry for being negative about this but I really really really want to beat Bush because this will be much worse of a world with him in another 4 years..:(

But Kerry is not a boob or anything else negative. If he wins the nomination, I'm a Kerry supporter.

4. We deserve to lose
If after everything Dean has done, people can't see what a walking disaster he is, we don't deserve to win.

11. He "rolls over" HOURLY for his controllers
He is a devious and dangerous man.. At first I thought he was just an inept "good ole boy" who wanted to vindicate his Poppy's screw ups, but I was wrong.. He is a man of no principle at all. He is everything to everyone, and in the process he is NOTHING..

He has united the world against us..
He has stolen our children's financial futures
He has trashed the only world we all inhabit (to the financial benefit of the very ones who pollute it)
He gives "pretend tax cuts" to the small fry, and raids the treasury to fatten the bank accounts of the already indecently rich..
He has pandered to corporations, giving them concessions unheard of in modern times, and looked the other way as they export jobs..
He has tried to stall the investigation into 9/11..the very incident that he clings to for legitimacy..

I sincerely hope that someone can dislodge this parasite from the white house and send him back to the pig farm in Crawford..

He is as welcome to most of us (worldwide) as a raging case of dysentery...

7. What????
Damn!!!!!!!

I am greatly concerned if Dean is our candidate. He is just a polarizing as Bush and has NO alternative on foreign policy.

Also, Dean wants to roll back the tax cuts for the working class people. Oh, well....I guess the people are just "stupid sheeple" to Dean. How will it look when Rove makes the ads that say,
"Howard Dean wants to take money out of the hands of the hard working American's hand." It's true, he does. At the same time Bush will be doing the same thing. If you want a successful alternative to Bush choose Wes Clark or John Kerry.

16. Meanwhile, Kerry & Clark promise everyone the world with no concern
for reality.

Both were so amart about foreign policy that they led the cheers during the Iraq invasion.

And Kerry was against the Gulf War after Hussein invaded Kuwait.

10. This poll is an outlier; could be right, but...
it's very different from about 8 others.
