U.S. Rep. Chris Carney ended months of mulling it over and announced Thursday he’s backing New York Sen. Hillary Clinton for president.

In a statement, Mr. Carney said he met with Mrs. Clinton on Wednesday, “and let her know Thursday that I am supporting her.”

“I have watched this primary process very closely, and as I said I would do, I have weighed the temperament and leadership displayed by Sens. Clinton and Obama during the course of this campaign,” Mr. Carney said in a statement. “We are extremely fortunate to have two very strong candidates vying to lead our nation. Pennsylvania’s 10th (Congressional) District (voters) overwhelmingly chose Sen. Clinton in the Pennsylvania primary and I will respect their decision.”

Rebecca Gale, his press secretary, said he was traveling with a congressional delegation to the U.S-Mexico border to evaluate border security and was unavailable for comment. Mrs. Clinton met with Mr. Carney and other uncommitted superdelegates Wednesday at the headquarters of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama met with them Thursday, but Mr. Carney did not attend that meeting, Ms. Gale said.

3. I was thinking titanic, Hindenburg is much better!
ummm why did he do this? I heard if you feed into a crazy's person's delusions, it helps them snap out of it, and come to their senses.

That's so sweet he is trying to help her like that.

resentment headed in your direction. Most of us have a fleeting love for you in the Senate even though you only vote with the dems when your vote is useless and gives you a moment to grandstand as a true dem. Though; TRUTH TO TELL, you are occasionally on the right side of some issues dear to all our hearts. The best man won so get over your bad self and please go back to the Senate where you can continue to line dance with Lie-berman and Shumer and co. and continue pretending to be a democrat and we can continue our love hate relationship; AND YES IF YOU HAD WON FAIRLY AND SQUARELY I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN BEHIND YOU WITH GUNS A'BLAZING IN A HEARTBEAT.

8. How nice of you.
Yet, yet, with all the money he throws at every state, so many many many people still won't vote for him. That's why it's going down to the wire. Because the split is so close to fifty-fifty it scares the shit out of people.

See, not everyone falls for a flashy televangelist. Not everyone is fooled by nothing more than technique.

"Fairly and squarely" my ass. Obama supporters are sexist ageist snots who think they're better than everyone else because they'll vote for a beige "black" man.

9. The Wire
Yet, yet, with all the money he throws at every state, so many many many people still won't vote for him. That's why it's going down to the wire.

But it's not down to the wire. There has been a world-wide consensus (I live in Australia and it's all even the media here can talk about) that Obama has won the race and essentially the nomination.

And the reason he has so much money to "throw at every state" is because of the massive numbers of regular people who have not only voted for him, but have supported him financially.

As for your comment about a "beige black man," I won't even go there. You are proof positive that the snobbery some folks at DU have for only backing up those with a high post count is the height of stupidity.

6. Might as well have said
two months ago that he would support whoever would win the 10th district. But he did not, probably because that's not the real reason.
