Pennsylvania senator to endorse Obama
Source: Associated Press

NEW YORK - Barack Obama will be endorsed by Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey

Campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the endorsement will come as Obama begins a six-day campaign swing through the Keystone State.

Pennsylvania is the next big prize in the tough primary contest between the Illinois senator and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York. Clinton holds a double-digit lead in recent polls of Pennsylvania voters.

Sen. Casey goes against the grain in PA and shows a lot of integrity.

The super delegates are under a lot of pressure right now to come out for one candidate or the other. Our the citizens need to be heard by the super delegates, so that the will of the voter, not be be tossed aside but counted and recognized. Let your voice count http://www.mysuperdelegate.com

7. That is a major major endorsement
Having Casey endorse you is the closest you'll get to having God deem you the second coming here in Pennsylvania.

Remember this guy unseated a 2 term senator by 19pts

24. Casey's dad was a very popular governor back in the 80s
Casey Sr. was known best for having a hissyfit at Clinton's 92 election when Casey wanted a platform to speak on primetime to bring the pro-life agenda into the democratic party. Clinton refused but mainly because there were just too many speakers. Casey Sr. is also the plantiff in the Supreme Court ruling for Casey vs. Southeastern PA Reproductive Center.

Caseys in PA are all very very liberal except one thing - choice. They are catholic and stick to the pro-life agenda. But Casey Jr. isn't as bad as his dad (he supports Birth Control and EC) and at least the Caseys both want to do something for after when the fetus is born.

28. I have absolutely no problem with pro-life folks
to me, pro-life are the people who actually do something to help the fetus AFTER it's born.

The rest of them including republicans couldn't give 2 shits about a child once it is born. To me they are anti-choice

I'm eager for the superdelegates to declare their support and END this primary. Of course, it would be much easier for them to end it favoring Obama.

15. Hillary's last major endorsement was Chelsea
Not that the two incidents are related (unless Chelsea was sent out as a desperation move) but everything started to turn around the time Chelsea hit the campaign trail.

Apparently the M$M isn't covering those below national level out here in the sticks. And Rendell is not a new endorsement. He has been on board forever.

30. Traditionally, the Dem leadership is supposed to stay neutral in primary competitions.
That includes the high elected Dems like Speaker, Majority Leader, and President, as well as the DNC Chair.

That said, the current situation is doubtless straining that rule to the limit.

35. Well, Dean's come as close as he politely could.
I think that's the implication of his call for superdelegates to make their preferences public.

Yes, every single Democrat should have their voice heard in the primaries, but it's really a numbers game at this point. And every day we continue the infighting is another day that McSame gets a free pass in the media.

I'll vote for a flesh-eating bacteria at this point if it gets the Pukes out of the White House. :)

25. You know, I wonder if Bob is getting revenge for his late father?
Bill Clinton wasn't too nice to Bob Casey Sr back in 92 when Bob insisted on a chance to speak about pro-life in the democratic agenda (btw, Jr isn't as bad as dad and outside of choice both Casey's could be considered very liberal). I have to agree that I wouldn't want that speech at a democratic convention but I think Clinton could have handled it a bit better than what he had done.

34. The late governor (RIP) refused to endorse Clinton in 92 (or any pro-choice Dem)
I believe that was the reason rather than his anti-choice speech.

37. You've got that right...
our local paper has a "talkback" section where you can write comments about whatever, and the people here are NOT happy and are writing that he lost their support and would never vote for him again..Don't forget the Casey family connection to the church. That's why Obama got hold of Casey because I read that Obama was very worried because this is a big catholic area..NOW, he's showing up here on Monday with his "pal" Casey who paved the way. You can bet there's going to be some nice signs being made.
