Venezuela nabs suspected Colombian cocaine kingpin
Source: Reuters

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan authorities have arrested a suspected drug lord and arms smuggler with paramilitary links wanted in the United States on charges of trafficking cocaine, a television station reported on Sunday.

Venezuela's national guard arrested Hermagoras Gonzalez close to the border with Colombia on Saturday, the television station Globovision reported.

The U.S. State Department offers a $5 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Gonzalez, known as "Fatty Gonzalez," who it accuses of sending large quantities of cocaine into America, including 9 tonnes in just one year.

The State Department says Gonzalez ran the Guajira cartel in Colombia and smuggled arms from Europe through Venezuela to support the activities of a paramilitary group fighting Marxist guerrillas in Colombia.

9. Probably won't hear about this story on the pravda network.
The last thing this administration and their tv voice, pravda, want the public to hear is that Venezuela has done anything constructive under the governing of Chavez.

Oh, btw, the chimp IS el diablo!

I'm aware of that - just didn't think they used that expression in the USA.

14. The Bushies are going to be very angry that their operative got arrested
Some Black Ops funding just went up in smoke.

Time for the usual Bushie "crocodile tears" about how glad they are this guy got caught, then when no one's looking or cares (which is to say virtually any secodn of any day in Imperial Amerika), to quietly let him go free and back to work for his Bushie Masters.

15. BFEE Operations Other Than War/OOTW
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 05:31 PM by bobthedrummer
Here are some recent events that are all interrelated to these continuing ootw/operations other than war in Latin America.

Uribe orchestrated "peace protests" against FARC that had an underlying anti-Chavez tone.

In the space of one week the following BFEE officials "visited" Uribe's Colombia just prior to the Colombian attacks inside Ecuador: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen, Director of the Office of Drug Control Policy John Walters, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

"War vs Peace: Colombia, Venezuela and the FARC Hostage Saga" by Kiraz Janicke ( Third World Traveler 2-9-2008)
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/South_America/Colombia_FARC.html

Just prior to that, Mexican-based drug cartel air assets brokered by leading Republican controlled US banks were "nabbed".

"Four More American Drug Planes Seized" by Daniel Hopsicker (2-7-2008)
http://www.madcowprod.com/02072008.html

Late last week the Russian "merchant of death", Viktor Bout, was arrested in Thailand for a FARC deal (how convenient-this guy has been doing this worldwide for decades for anyone and his financial guy is/was Texas-based Richard Chichakli)

"Thai police arrest suspected 'Merchant of Death' arms dealer" by Peter Walker and other agencies (Guardian 3-6-2008)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/mar/06/thailand.russia

There are no coincidences in operations other than war/ootw.

16. Two observations
1) Perhaps the US would NOW be willing to extradite terrorist Louis Podasa back to Cuba in trade for Fatty Gonzalez

2) "Fatty Gonzalez"? That's the most brilliant drug-lord nickname I've ever heard!

Man, the Sicilian mob has nothing on the Colombians when it comes to silly nicknames!

18. The BFEE's nicknames are far bloodier: "Poppy", "W", "Dusty", "Scooter", "Buzzy", "Cookie", "Duke",
"Condi", "Brain", "Jeb", etc...

17. Har, har! The Bushits and their bus boy Uribe are such jokes!
Lethal fuckers, though--for all the hilarity they provide for the people of South America, and a few of us here in the North.
