Lobbyists clamor for a good word in Bush's address
Oh for cryin' out loud :eyes:

WASHINGTON -- A mention in the president's State of the Union speech is the holy grail for Washington lobbyists, the ultimate but often elusive reward.

"You tell everybody you can think to tell" in the White House, said Dan Danner, lobbyist for the National Federation of Independent Business. "You tell the speechwriters. You tell the congressional people. You tell the policy people. You tell the public liaison people and the economic shop."

1. Good idea! Bush could even sell ad space in his speech!
"...and when we pulled Saddam from that spider hole, our nation became safer from terribolism.

And speaking of spider holes, if you have a pest problem in your house, the imperial White House recommends The Orkin Man™ - he really knows pests. He can rid your home of those pesky spiders and other critters faster than we can intitiate an investigation on any former cabinet member who crosses us!"

4. LOL
You reminded me of the relatively new technique of product placement in TV shows and movies

Maybe Bush could start wearing logo wear and take sips of his favorite (sponsored) beverage during the speech. Or, if you want ot get really high tech, use the same technique they use to advertise during baseball games....electronically place a background behind him.

Hell, if the Presidency is for sale why not use the latest techniques?

Model the SOTU speech after a Nascar Race.

Shrub could do his best Dale Jr. impression as he thanks all of his sponsers...."My Coca Cola, Mobile, Diebold, At&T...etc...etc.. Murika is really runnin' fine.....Fightin' those terrists with Pepsi,Coors, WorldCom, Haliburton Army team..."
