Soldier, After Bipolar Treatment and Suicide Attempts, Sent Back to War Zone
Source: Editor & Publisher

A Fort Carson soldier who says he was in treatment at Cedar Springs Hospital for bipolar disorder and alcohol abuse was released early and ordered to deploy to the Middle East with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team.

The 28-year-old specialist spent 31 days in Kuwait and was returned to Fort Carson on Dec. 31 after health care professionals in Kuwait concurred that his symptoms met criteria for bipolar disorder and “some paranoia and possible homicidal tendencies,” according to e-mails obtained by a Denver newspaper.

The soldier, who asked not to be identified because of the stigma surrounding mental illness and because he will seek employment when he leaves the Army, said he checked himself into Cedar Springs on Nov. 9 or Nov. 10 after he attempted suicide while under the influence of alcohol. He said his treatment was supposed to end Dec. 10, but his commanding officers showed up at the hospital Nov. 29 and ordered him to leave.

“I was pulled out to deploy,” said the soldier, who has three years in the Army and has served a tour in Iraq.

Soldiers from Fort Carson and across the country have complained they were sent to combat zones despite medical conditions that should have prevented their deployment.

3. This is the real face of "Compassionate Conservatism"
Warm bodies are needed to conduct bush's war. Up until recently no one has been paying attention to the suicide rates of the returning soldiers or the currently deployed ones. They've been getting away with abusing these soldiers to death and not having even having to show a rise in the official death toll of the war.

4. Do you remember MacNamara's Moron corps.?
During the Vietnam War, the military intentionally selected mentally retarded soldiers to serve in the army and they died in disproportionately higher numbers than their counterparts. The information below and link provides information.

The main point is that they lowered the standards for enlistment ESPECIALLY in impoverished areas. So, I'm wondering, was there some plan for a cleansing of undesirables, American undesirables, with the Iraq War? Why pick people with psychological problems which can prove a threat to the safety of your own troops, or soldiers who belong to anti-social groups, such as the skinheads, unless you really don't care if they don't make it back?

Here is the info on the Moron Corps:

In 1966, McNamara initiated the "Moron Corps," as they were piteously nicknamed by other soldiers. Billed as a Great Society program, McNamara's Project 100,000 lowered military enlistment requirements to recruit 100,000 men per year with marginal minds and bodies. Recruiters swept through urban ghettos and southern hill country, taking some youths with I.Q.s below what is considered legally retarded.

In all, 354,000 volunteered for Project 100,000. The minimum passing score on the armed forces qualification test had been 31 out of 100. Under McNamara's Project 100,000, those who scored as low as 10 were taken if they lived in a designated "poverty area." In 1969, out of 120 Marine Corps volunteers from Oakland, California, nearly 90 percent scored under 31; more than 70 percent were black or Mexican. Overall, 41 percent of Project 100,000 volunteers were black, compared to 12 percent of the rest of the armed forces. Touted as providing "rehabilitation," remedial education, and an escape from poverty, the program offered a one-way ticket to Vietnam, where these men fought and died in disproportionate numbers. The much-advertised skills were seldom taught.

6. I never knew this
Now that I do I find it shocking, heartbreaking and infuriating. And that's before I've even had time to digest it.

I knew they plagued the lower income, minority areas in attempts to lure recruits with hope of ending their families poverty issues. I just never realized that was only the tip of the iceberg as to how far their exploitation went.

10. I think we may have slowed them down on this war.
Bush and his minions probably thought they were going to succeed keeping us all on the defense, by escalating this war. These war hawks probably had it all figured out that they would sell the American war machine and keep the petrol privateers happier than pigs in mud.

which would've sunk this war in a heartbeat. What they've done with lowering standards with this war, stop-lossing and sending back sick and injured troops is akin to McNamara's Moron corps.

suicides if they do not get them out of there, and get them the help they need. Shameful, holding those troops hostage out in Iraq. After so many tours do they not think this will not affect these troops??? Disgusting/:mad:

14. Cheaper to hope he gets killed
than pay for helping him..Oh and yes it is a cull just does not look like one on the surface. But add it up most people have no health insurance fort Dietrich is always losing things, the wounded soldiers are not helped but sent out into the line of fire AGAIN,and the economy is collapsing foreclosures and money stress can drive people to suicide/homicide,and the food we eat is making us sick, we work longer hours than Europeans for less and less, all kinds of poisons are being imported from china in food and products, everything is polluted, the fish has mercury, factory farms are cesspools, the biggest polluter of all the military is exempt from EPA regs, add it up.It looks like a cull to me.. Only the very wealthy can afford to protect themselves from all of this shit and buy the high quality foods, treatments and medicines to stay healthy.
The elites on all sides want to reduce the population of "undesirables" which is like 90% of us. You just can't SAY that outright so they make it look like errors or they drag their feet on purpose as the government in Katrina,or they relax laws to let tests be done on us without our consent while unconsious . A preventable death,of a person dying here or there,of different appearing reasons renders the death camps invisible.Cancer is a killer ,but what if the pollution levels in our environment are concentrated in certain areas and housing is kept cheap to encourage poor people to live there, how would that NOT be a slow genocide aimed at killing the poor, just like military recruiters target the poor? Coincidence?? Eliminate poverty by eliminating the concentration of wealth by a few.

Said Welch, "Land use is the essence of politics in San Francisco."

Incredibly, Welch and Gullicksen say that the San Francisco super rich want this seven-by-seven-mile city for themselves, transforming the City into the exclusive preserve of the affluent. Welch said, "Their definition of multiculturalism is where you can go to any restaurant featuring a variety of the world's cuisines." They plan to use HOPE to run the tenant population out of rental spaces in the City and change San Francisco voting patterns. They have even figured out how many years this will take.

Just as they plan to use Care Not Cash to make homeless people disappear by attrition or death, they have created HOPE as a condo-conversion scheme to control who lives here and who works here, and to transform San Francisco to a City of the Rich in 25 years or less.
