Trains, Bloggers Are Threats in US Drill
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- It's the government's idea of a really bad day: Washington's Metro trains shut down. Seaport computers in New York go dark. Bloggers reveal locations of railcars with hazardous materials. Airport control towers are disrupted in Philadelphia and Chicago. Overseas, a mysterious liquid is found on London's subway.

And that's just for starters.

Those incidents were among dozens of detailed, mock disasters confronting officials rapid-fire in the U.S. government's biggest-ever "Cyber Storm" war game, according to hundreds of pages of heavily censored files obtained by The Associated Press. The Homeland Security Department ran the exercise to test the nation's hacker defenses, with help from the State Department, Pentagon, Justice Department, CIA, National Security Agency and others.

"Bloggers reveal locations of railcars with hazardous materials." I think we should expect a major new assault on freedom of speech, so well facilitated by the internet, as the neo con agenda does more and more damage and the "Pepsi or Coke" election draws nearer. If we weren't all classified as "terrorists" before we will be soon.

.. a lot of money and political maneuvering in buying media networks, gutting legal safe guards to prevent monopolies in any one venue or otherwise air opposing views so it is a pretty safe bet they will pull out all the stops when push comes to shove which it will very soon. Cornered rats and all that.

5. how much longer will it take before people realize that the government sees We, the People as
terrorists? Too long, I'm afraid.

"Bloggers reveal locations of railcars with hazardous materials." :wtf: That is a stupid assertion, and shows just how whacked out these fascist bastards really are.

14. Yep.
Somebody out there has the master list of where this stuff is, and you better believe it's much more likely to be somebody in a gov't somewhere than Joe Schmoe with his blog about his cat and his kid and his personal opinions. /sigh

is dangerous shit. A blogger becomes a master terrorist? They're pretty much spelling out for us their future plans for the internet. No more free flow of ideas. No need for rigged elections.

17. I have been so honored by a visit from the Secret Service over a web site I never completed.
That due to my advocacy of a court martial of the Commander in Chief. I didn't complete it because so many others with the same information and views sprang up around the same time, reassuring me that I was not just going crazy.

12. Q: Who are the bloggers and how did they get this info on haz-mat trains?

A: Quit pestering us with silly details. Why should we actually, you know, investigate and root out specific, genuine threats, when it's so much easier to just consider everyone a threat? Now clear outta here, citizen, before you end up in the cage, too.

15. WTF?
Stand by any highway or railway long enough and you can locate railcars and trucks carrying hazardous materials. They usually have big scary looking "Hazardous Materials" signs on them. Who the bloody hell needs bloggers to find them?
