Rudy Giuliani hints at dropping out
Source: LA Times

Rudy Giuliani appears to be pondering an end to his long pursuit of the Republican presidential nomination.

In a meeting in the back of his chartered plane en route to St. Petersburg, Fla., a short while ago, the onetime, longtime GOP front-runner told a small group of reporters, including The Times' Louise Roug: "The winner of Florida will win the nomination."

He then went on to predict he would win. And his spokeswoman, Maria Comella, said later he was speaking with confidence.

But that's an unusually categorical statement suggesting that only a total first-place upset by Giuliani, who trails both Mitt Romney and John McCain in all major polls for Florida's Republican primary tomorrow, will keep him in the competition, despite previous repeated vows to continue.

So should Romney, McCain, Huckabee, and Paul.

The ONLY reason to pay attention to the Repig primaries is the entertainment value. Can you imagine the debates with just McCain and Romney?? :boring:

10. Rudy
I would 9/11 rather have him in 9/11 the long run so 9/11 he could waste 9/11 all of his
time 9/11 and effort and 9/11 money for something 9/11 he is going 9/11 to lose anyway,
whether 9/11 it be in Florida 9/11 or later on super 9/11 Tuesday, when a lot of 9/11
states are up for 9/11 grabs, and if he is 9/11 still a distant 9/11 3rd place he might
want 9/11 to stay in the race 9/11 who knows.

:hi:

32. Not only have I not campaigned, nobody even knows who I am!
Ergo, to wit, and therefore, I am the obvious front-runner and heir to the Kennedy/Reagan mantle (choose as you wish)!

Wow, that was easy. Now, for my next miracle...

Oh, yeah. 9/11.

16. Oh come on Rudy, stay in until the job is done...
You never know what can happen

McCain might up and croak
Huckabee might be raptured
and Romney could be thrown off his game by the death of the 'Pope' of Mormonism.

then... you *might* stand a chance!

17. If you're going to publicly contemplate dropping out BEFORE the primary
Might as well save us all the trouble and do it now. If you can't exude confidence in an upcoming primary, don't expect anyone to have any confidence in you either.

Spare us the spectacle and just bag it now.

30. My theory ever since the story about his staff "working cheap"

...has been that that story was a smokescreen for the fact that he probably only ran for the money, and somehow used the campaign funds to buy power of some sort, if not siphoning it off in cash form.

31. I never thought Giuliani would win.
Even though he was the "front runner" all summer, he is just too egregiously flawed in too many important areas to make it. It seems like everyone dislikes him for a different reason, but they all dislike him.

But for entertainment value, he's pretty good!

I'm hearing a lot about the technical tools McCain's proposing. Sounds just like the stuff Giuliani's companies are involved in.

38. That was one lousy campaign he ran
Terry McAuliffe must had advised him. It was that bad.

There he was, all set to be coronated in Minneapolis, and he just kicked back and let all the other candidates get his delegates.
