Lieberman tapped to McCain 'leadership team' in Conn.
Source: Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn.—Sen. Joe Lieberman has been named a chairman of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain's state leadership team.

Lieberman, an Independent who caucuses with Senate Democrats, has endorsed the Arizona senator and campaigned for him in Florida, Michigan, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

He is heading McCain's Connecticut campaign with Republican Rep. Christopher Shays.

George Jepsen, former state Democratic Party chairman who supported Ned Lamont's successful challenge of Lieberman in the 2006 Democratic primary, said Lieberman's endorsement of McCain is an affront to Democrats who believed Lieberman when he said two years ago that he was committed to helping put a Democrat in the White House in 2008.

4. If McCain is really so clueless as to how poisonous his association with Liarman...
is, he's the last person qualified to run for pResident.

5. If Lieberman is McCain's VP pick, will Dems have courage to call him the Bush boot-lick that he is?

7. Undoubtedly not.
Whenever we count on our Dems to show backbone, our Dems can be counted on to turn into mollusks.

8. No.
If they had any courage, he'd have been stripped of committee
chairmanships and assignments already.

6. "Kissyface" Lieberman and "Huggybody" McCain. Together again, for the first time.
I wonder if Commander Shit-fer-Brains realizes how many people he has competing for his affections? :eyes:

13. When Bush is in the room with both, he probably has very clean boots and bunghole
since he's with his favorite boot-lick and brown-noser.

I do feel bad for McCain since he had to be tortured into brown-nosing while Lieberman volunteered for the boot-licking.

14. In Philip Roth's PLOT AGAINST AMERICA about Nazis taking over US, there's a Lieberman-like character
The book takes place during World War II, and he's a pro-nazi rabbi who gives the fascist a thin veneer of tolerance until their kristalnacht.

9. He so transparently wants to be McCain's VP.
He's been campaigning for that spot for years.

Disgusting.

18. Lieberman says no way will be running mate.
"No, I'd tell him, 'Thanks, John, I've been there, I've done that. You can find much better,'" Lieberman said Tuesday in his Senate office.

Well for once he is telling the truth. They can find someone much better than him for VP.

15. The sheep think they make the "choice" - Reality is, the decision was made a long time ago when in
2004, Bush and the higher powers be told McCain that if he campaigned with Bush to get him re-elected, the nomination was his in 2008. Meanwhile, after that, Bush Bootlicker Lieberman was told that if he licked even harder, that he could have a place in the next administration, even as McCain's VP.

Call me a cynic, but I gave up a year ago thinking that "WE" really had a choice. I said 2 years ago that the nominees were going to be McCain and Hillary (before they even announced) and that the choice was made. And maybe there will be a new war or terra attack where then "they" can parade the "War hero/soldier" McCain around and there is nothing more the right wing would love to do is humiliate and spank the Clinton's publicly again.

The system is rigged and we can participate and pretend we have a choice....the choice has been made already.... :eyes:
