White House times arms sale, Bush trip By MATTHEW LEE, Associated Press Writer
2 hours, 51 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration will notify Congress on Monday of its intent to sell $20 billion in weapons, including precision-guided bombs, to Saudi Arabia, moving up the announcement to coincide with the president's arrival in Riyadh, The Associated Press has learned.

Despite concern about the deal from some lawmakers, the State Department, which last month said it would delay the notification until after Congress comes back into session, will announce the proposed sale on Jan. 14, a day before the House returns to work and more than a week before senators return to Washington, said a senior official.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations on the matter.

The official said the new timing was "appropriate" and "symbolic" as it would come within hours of Bush's arrival in Saudi Arabia, the penultimate stop on his current Middle East trip. Air Force One is scheduled to land in Riyadh on Monday after a stop in Dubai.

"Me and my republicon homelander war-proiteering cronies are going to make out like (smirk) bandits on this deal. Please pay no attention to the fact that almost all the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi. I have a SPECIAL THANG with the bin Laden Olde Boy-O network, you know -- wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Smirk."

2. Sweet!
Fifteen of the attackers were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon.

9. George's granddaddy armed the Nazis, George's daddy armed Saddam Hussein, George arms the Saudis.
The Bush cabal also armed and trained the Taliban, sold weapons to Iran, sold nuclear technology to Pakistan (which in turn sold it to North Korea), etc.

And the Republicans are seen as strong on security, huh??

The Saudi regime is one of the most oppressive and unstable regimes in the world. They have been the chief sponsors of terrorists, and have had numerous groups try to overthrow that regime over the years. These groups were ruthlessly suppressed and the information heavily suppressed.

The sale of that much war technology only underscores how much a stranglehold the Saudis have over the Bush regime and the United States. The Saudis have quietly been buying up big chunks of America especially the companies involved in the military/industrial complex. The "beauty" of the purchase for the Saudis is that they are using the oil profits that we send them to buy weapons system from companies that they own stock in and will get a lot of the purchase price back in stock dividends and capital gains. Not bad for one of the most backward, corrupt, oppressive regimes on the planet.
