Ronald Reagan.

That said, IMHO Huckabee is going to implode. Better if he did after locking up Repuke nomination.

Still the Fundies may turn out for him in droves and he could win the WH that way.

6. I wish they would stop calling them the "Republican Iowa caucuses!" They're not.
What the Republicans do in Iowa is more like a "Straw Poll," they do nothing even close to Caucuses.

What the Democrats do is Caucus, a completely different system from the ReThug process which is basically a straight vote by a tiny fraction of the people.

9. Huckabee wins GOP caucus in Iowa
Source: MSNBC

DES MOINES, Iowa - Mike Huckabee, a Baptist preacher turned politician, rode a wave of support from evangelical Christians to victory Thursday night in the Iowa caucuses, turning back Mitt Romney in the first test in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

On the Democrats side, there was a virtual three-way tie, with Barack Obama holding a slim lead over rivals John Edwards and Hillary Clinton with about half the precincts counted.

Iowans voted in evening caucuses at 1,781 precincts from Adel to Zingle, in schools, firehouses and community centers. Turnout was heavy at many caucus sites. At the Democratic caucus at Westridge Elementary School in West Des Moines, a crowd of 267 registered. In 2004, only 86 Iowans participated there.

In interviews as they entered the caucuses, more than half of all the Republicans said they were either born-again or evangelical Christians, and they liked Huckabee more than any of his rivals. Romney led handily among the balance of the Iowa Republican voters, according to the survey.

But among all the Republicans with whom I associate, I can't imagine ONE of them actually voting for the guy.

I can't deny that he's captured the hearts of the roughly 20% of this nation who are completely nuts (and with whom I don't associate).

28. A Perfect Result
The Dems have an interesting 3 way race between 3 good candidates. That will keep the free media attention and the public interest focused on the Dems.

Meanwhile, the Republican establishment is crapping their pants over a real live evangelical possibly leading their party.

Their leading mainstream candidate blew all his millions and appears wounded. The more people knew about him, the less they liked him.

Their supposed Reagan-reborn candidate is on life support. Their next leading candidate is ancient. Guiliani is hated by the social conservatives in the party who threatened to run a 3rd party candidate if he is nominated.

And Newt Gingrich is waiting by the phone. He said last month that is ready to be drafted, if they just beg him. Don't hesistate to call. He would be the Dems' dream opponent.

38. 4Realz! Now we get to watch him get his ass kicked in New Hampshire, fun, fun, fun!
I must say Hucklebible is turning out to be quite the entertaining spectacle.

I'm laughing my ass off at how all the pandering to the snake-handling fundie freaks has laid the Huckster at their GOP feet - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

After New Hampshire, they'll be in a tailspin and won't know WHAT the fuck to do - it'll be great.

I also find it DELICIOUS that Romney-bot sunk a boatload of cash in Iowa to get his ass handed to him by the Bumbling Preacher Man.
