Lead Paint Found On Blocks, Play Sets
POSTED: 11:42 am EST December 19, 2007

AAFES, a retailer that serves U.S. military bases, has recalled about 11,400 Military Bear-brand toys because surface paint contains excessive lead.

The products include alphabet blocks in a wooden wagon, a clock with magnetic blocks meant to teach time, a wooden riding horse and a military vehicle play set.

All the toys were manufactured in China.

They have the following style and UPC codes:
Blocks: 6320, 834162002158
Time teacher: 6231, 834162002646
Riding horse: 6349, 834162003698
Vehicle play set: 1007, 4895130810072

They were sold at Army & Air Force Exchange Service stores worldwide from August 2006 through October 2007 for between $5 and $20.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said people should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and return them to the nearest AAFES store for a full refund.

For more information, call AAFES at (800) 866-3605 or visit AAFES.com.
