Craig attends Bush event
Source: Politico

Well, that didn’t take long. Less than four months after becoming a national laughingstock, Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was an administration guest at the ceremony Wednesday where President Bush signed a major energy bill.

It was late August when the news broke that Craig had pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in an airport restroom, and early October when he reneged on a promise to resign from office if his name had not been legally cleared.

But Washington being Washington and senators having senatorial swat, Craig is already being treated normally again.

His staff said also attended an event the White House held for Adoption Day last month.

Presumably, the Senator was flushed with pride at the Administration's legislative accomplishments..

4. I want to make a joke...

...because, as we all know, this situation is a petri dish for one liners.

However, I hear the name Larry Craig, and I think about this situation and
it's just so sad.

These conservatives who demonize gay people and convince people that gay marriage
means the end of Western Civilization--do such harm. They force people to be
ashamed of who they are, and that is so wrong. Larry Craig obviously was
hiding his authentic self--so I guess he felt that other gay men should be
just as miserable and hidden as he is.

It's just so sad that many politicians in power--are all about lying, hiding,
denial of self and self-imposed imprisonment.

Larry Craig should have been able to express himself and be himself--without
living such a fractured life and worrying about what others think.

I wish Larry Craig and anyone who struggles with society's unfairness--peace, freedom
and self acceptance. It's what all of us deserve--gay or straight.

9. Don't pity him
most of the Repub. party are so deep in their perversions that they make him look vanilla, and he knows it.

The real issue here is exclusivism. It's all right for the Grand ol' Perverts to be sexual harrassers, rapists, adulterers, partaking in prostitution, child molesters, etc., but everyone else has to be straight, married, in bed, missionary position for the purposes of procreation only???

This problem of 2 sets of rules never fails to piss me off.

11. Awww...
I'll take that as an early holiday present, because
you have a remarkable way with words. Any compliment
with respect to writing, coming from you--is an honor!

8. Funny how toe-tapper gets some heat, and then all is well
while Clinton gets a blowjob(I think he should have gone all the way with Monica on the oval office desk and had a press conference declaring that he had done so, myself), and people are still wagging their fingers and making outraged noises.

Double standard much?
