Bush economic adviser Hubbard to step down: report
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top White House economic adviser Allan Hubbard is expected to leave his post at the end of this year, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday in its on-line edition.

The resignation, the latest in a spate of White House departures as President George W. Bush's term winds down, could be announced later in the day, the Journal said.

Hubbard, 60, joined the White House as director of the National Economic Council after Bush's re-election in 2004.

His departure would come as the Bush administration is facing a crisis in the mortgage industry that has caused rising housing foreclosures and sparked recession fears.

19. those are a few of my chickens...
:-)

Silly birds, always make me laugh! And they have decimated the bug population (ticks especially) on our property and give us the best eggs!

20. My parents have chickens. They are yard pets.

Chickens provide entertainment value, and eggs that taste 10x better than store bought eggs, and healthier too.

I wish we had chickens, but my boyfriend thinks chickens don't fit our "image". Last spring I came home with 6 baby chicks, but he made me give them to my parents. :-(

Gardenweb has a good forum to discuss chickens, in case you haven't seen it. http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/farmlife/ Okay, I think that's enough thread-highjacking for today.

10. Up to now it has been rats jumping from the sinking BushCo ship
...now the BushCo people are dropping like flies. Do they think by leaving early they can avoid accountability?

Democrats should be sending out indictments and subpoenas to every BushCo operative who has left, beginning with KKKarl Rove. These folks have deliberately wreaked America and they should be made to realize that although they are running and hiding, they can not be allowed to get away with their crimes and corruption.

16. Brad DeLong awarded the title Stupidest Man Alive to Allan Hubbard
basically because Hubbard proudly stated he spent hours on the US budget. Not days, nor months but hours.

Heck most of us here at DU have spend hours just debating US budget issues. Same amount of time as the man in charge of it all.

I don't expect this Hubbard assistant will be much different after he is promoted to Hubbard's spot.

18. I wonder who wins between Hubbard and Feith.
Both have been called 'dumbest man alive'. Surely they can't both be. I demand they fight it out so we know which is most worthy of our scorn.
