Emergency to stay for now, Pakistan leader Musharraf tells US
Source: afp

ISLAMABAD (AFP) - Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf told a top US diplomat Saturday that he would only call off emergency rule when the security situation improves, a senior presidential aide told AFP.

Musharraf met John Negroponte, number two in the US State Department, for two hours of talks which diplomats had said the US official would use to send "a very strong message" to end the two-week-old state of emergency.

It came a day after Negroponte spoke by telephone with opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, who has scrapped power-sharing talks with Musharraf and urged him to quit.

"President Musharraf made it clear to the visiting US envoy that the emergency can only be lifted once the situation regarding law and order improves," the aide told AFP.

2. An actual Dictaor with actual Nukes...
Yet Bush is still more worried about a powerless statesman with Iran's possible nukes 5 or 6 years down the road..

If you want utter proof that the War on Terror is nothing but a sham people, Here it is.

3. Just the newest dick tator on the nuclear block.
Don't forget the Bush/Cheney monster and Ol' Putin. Does the Chinese Ruling Elite rate as a dictatorship? Who else but dictators would want to keep weapons of mass destruction at their evil fingertips, and make sure there is a heiarchy of fearful "others" with such disgusting power?

5. Something tells me
it was no accident that they sent John Dimitri "Dr. Death" Negroponte. Wherever this man goes, death surely follows.
He probably had a talk with Musharraf.

I'd say whatever you do, don't get into a car with Mr. Musharraf.
