Senate Votes to Block War Money
Source: Associated Press

Filed at 10:03 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate on Friday blocked a Republican proposal to pay $70 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without strings attached.

The 53-45 vote was 15 votes short of the 60 needed to advance.

The measure was aimed at countering Democratic legislation that also would bankroll the operations, but would additionally require that troops start coming home in 30 days.

The Democratic bill, passed by the House on Wednesday, set a goal of ending combat by December 2008.

9. Does anyone have.............
the list of traitor Dems who voted with the Repugs to prevent the overturn of Bush veto, on the entitlements, LIHEAP.
The Senate gives a breakdown by party,Thomas only lists the Nays without a party initial.

That meant NO HELP for me heating my house in Maine, forcing me to pay out $287.00 already when in former seasons I haven't had to pay much at all.
Now I have to ask the kids for money to pay my electric bill.
It would make more sense to be investing what little I have into building up my business, so that I CAN SUPPORT MYSELF!Because obviously I can't get by on my SS income as my Grandparents & Great GRandparents were able to do.

10. here you go
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=1&vote=00410

Calm yourself down as no Dems voted with the Repubs but one independent did.(Lieberman of course). If it makes you feel better, Voinovich and Smith voted with us on this. The vote mirrors our Dem bill to bring the troops home but it was the Maine ladies voting with us on that one.

it's all on senate.gov under roll call votes.

13. How much of this funding is for body armor or humvee upgrade?
or is it only cutting the holiday turkey dinners for the troops ?

just saying, going on record could come back to haunt them in the most uncomfortable way so stand by for that angle to test their true grit mettle
