Novak under fire for calling Native Americans election thieves
Tell me again, what is the purpose of this guy being in public at all, let alone having three major jobs: Crossfire, Sun-Times Column, Meet the Press?

http://www.rapidcityjournal.com/articles/2004/01/09/news/local/top/news01.txt

Robert Novak, nationally known political commentator, has drawn criticism from all corners of South Dakota for racially charged remarks he made Tuesday on CNN's nationally broadcast program, "Crossfire."

"In 2002, (Republican candidate John) Thune would have been elected to the state's other Senate seat, but the election was stolen by stuffing ballot boxes on Indian reservations. Now, Tom Daschle may have to pay for that theft," Novak said in an exchange with Democratic operative James Carville.

Carville called the statement "really out there" and said American Indians are "very patriotic Americans."

"Has Thune said that the Native Americans are election thieves?" Carville asked.

Novak replied, "No, I said it.

Once again, the right takes spin and tries to call it fact. I especially like that Limbaugh got caught in another whopper.

3. Funny, I don't remember him
expressing any outrage over the election his Boy King Impostor blatantly and illegally stole.

And the notion that just because native Americans in S.D. voted for Johnson means that they "stuffed their ballot boxes" is just plain crazy. Would you like some sour grapes, Mr. Novak?

Maybe the Indian reservations (and I've been on a couple of them in S.D., it's like being in a third world country, which shows you where they are in the government's order of importance) voted for Johnson because he was one of the few politicians who actually gave a damn about them and their desperate needs and tried to do something about it, unlike the damned useless repukes like Thune and Janklow, who made careers out of playing to white racists fears and stereotypes of Indians.

If a liberal had said this, imagine the media uproar that would have ensued! Come to think of it, look at how they've crucified Hillary endlessly, over and over, for a minor, lame attempt at humor. HYPOCRISY, ANYONE?

The weasel was making a big deal out of Hillary's poor attempt at humor.
Wonder if "dead intern Joe" will say anything about a right wing conservative making a remark that a minority group broke the law?

18. Of course not, because
it was a repuke who said it, so it doesn't count or matter. And I find it hilarious that the racist, bigoted repukes are complaining about Hilary's so-called "racist" comment, when they have Annthrax Coulter, Rush LIEbaugh, Sean "Insanity" Hannity, Trent "Mississippi Hair Helmet" Lott, etc., etc, etc., and I never hear them outraged over any of THEIR numerous and horrendously racist remarks!

re you listening Bob? That's right, dickhead, keep spouting your racist crap and hopefully the repubics will find themselves on the trash heap of history, a footnote about the dangers of what unbridled lust for power gets you. Hopefully an animal cage in Cuba in your case.

Edited to add: I just e-mailed CNN about getting rid of this hack.

9. Well, actually Bush and his "brothers" at Skull & Bones
Edited on Fri Jan-09-04 10:45 AM by SpiralHawk
do have the Skull of Geronimo at the Krypt on the campus of Yale -- where Connecticut native George Bush went to school after his years at an elite Eastern prep school (he was a cheerleader at prep school -- since regular sports were a bit rough for him).

So -- the Occult Skull & Boner Fraternity meets -- and does "things" with the skull. That much we know about Bush and his secret cronies.

But having stolen a skull (several hundred actually) and an election (who knows how many for real), does not qualify them for status as Native Americans (much as they might like a yearly share in the "gaming" proceeds).

I hope that helps to answer your question.

Thats all I can figure. The plaque is building up in his brain..angry white man disease..I cant even imagine living in that much anger, that much hatred, that much denial, and , quite possibly, that much fear of eventually being known as the man who has to go to trial (please please!) for outing a CIA agent.
His dentures seem to be slipping around also.

Accuse the other side of the things you are about to do.

Election fraud is one of the issues that republicans chronically complain about but are themselves the worse abusers.

Of course they pick on the most defenseless members of our society, I wonder what Ben "Turncoat" Campbell has to say about this?

14. For the record, the Teachings about "gaming"
Many of the elders I have spoken with over the years, from many of the different Nations spread across Turtle Island (North America), have been clear in their teachings about gambling.

They have told me that, as recounted in the teachings handed down to them via the oral tradition, the Red Nations were warned about gambling in the past

The Red Nations were warned before, and didn't listen. They say that was one of the big factors that brought on the Great Flood (over 200 cultures around the world have "myths" about the big flood -- and Native America is among them with many stories).

At that time long ago, the elders have told me, the Red Nations were warned again. They were told that if they went back to gambling (gaming) again, it would be a factor bringing on another cleansing.

This is how I have heard it. This is how it has been told to me. To you, in a respectful manner, I report it so, that the Sacred Hoop may be made whole.

Meegwich, SH

22. You know how on the Surviver TV show, whan a contestant tells the

camera that they have everyone under control and thus have no fear of being voted out? and they boast, and smile and really feel good about themselves - then 'blam', the very next time, they get voted out.

that's what Novak sounds like. he got away with the Plame deal and he's feeling powerful.

24. He insisted on saying "INDIANS"
I watched this episode and was floored too! Not only did he accuse the native americans of "stealing" the election, but he kept referring to them as "indians" - even after he was reminded that "native american" was more appropriate -he said "I call them Indians!"

This was one day after he said something about the dems having trouble with whites in the south - because they are patriotic! Like only whites in the south are patriotic! Or only republicans are "patriotic"!?!

27. We don't have to put up with this crap from Novak
Every paper that carries his column should get letters from readers protesting giving him a forum for his racist ideas. This is slander, pure and simple. Free speech does't give one the right to slander. I don't recall any convictions for ballot box stuffing in South Dakota - so either he apologies in a genuine way (no "if anyone was offended" crap) or he should be relegated to the dustbin of disgraced punditry.

33. Guess who's rushing to Novak's defense?
Not good news for Bob...

http://www.nativetimes.com/index.asp?action=displayarticle&article_id=3528

Rush Limbaugh, the controversial radio talk show host who is under investigation for purchasing illegal drugs has rushed to Novak's side on today's (January 9, 2004) broadcast. Limbaugh called criticism of Novak as politically motivated and that Novak is not a racist. Limbaugh then went on to mimic Presidential candidate Al Sharpton. The democratic candidate is African American and Limbaugh mimiced his voice in what some might describe as racially insensitive.

Limbaugh went on to say "there I said it, yes, there was stuffed ballot boxes on Indian reservations, let them come after me."
