Terror Alert Level Will Move to Yellow

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The nation's terror alert level will be lowered one step, to yellow on Friday, suggesting the immediate threat of attacks has lessened somewhat, a Homeland Security official said.

Homeland Security officials were expected to announce the change later Friday morning at a news conference, an agency official said on condition of anonymity

It also makes me wonder if it will ever go all the way down to Green. IMO, they shot themselves in the foot by inventing this stupid terror-color coded thing-ama-bob. If they go all the way to Green, and terrorists stike, then they look like fools...if they keep it at Red and nothing happens, then they look like fools.

11. The Alert worked!

Just heard Ridge's statement lowering the alert status claiming that terra strikes were averted due to the elevated state of awareness.

This is just the stupidiest thing. So we're to believe that all the terrorists went home (and will stay there) because we were on high alert.

I'm sure the less skeptical are thanking our government for protecting us and stopping the terra-ists.
