Mondale Endorses Clinton for President
Source: Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Former Vice President Walter Mondale is endorsing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for president, the Clinton campaign announced Sunday.

"America is ready for change, and Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to deliver it," Mondale said in a statement released by the campaign. "Hillary is uniquely qualified to rebuild America's standing in the world and lead this nation from her first day in the White House."

Mondale, a former U.S. senator from Minnesota, was vice president from 1977 to 1981 under President Carter. He was the Democratic nominee for president in 1984, but lost to Ronald Reagan in the general election.

Mondale also was U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 1993 to 1996.

cause I don't see another Clinton as a change. x(

Just for the record I haven't made up my mind. I'm not an Obama backer but I see him as more change than Hillary.

4. Well It Seems... These Liberal Heroes Of Mine Have Just Gotten Old
and have lost the will to fight. Either that or they sold out! McGovern WAS the real kicker for me! I sooooo DON'T UNDERSTAND that!! Maybe they think she'll win and can't STAND the thought of losing AGAIN! Either way, kinda of proves what I think about "older men!" They get grouchy and grumpy!

Too bad, but what THE HELL!! I say "Beware Of What You Wish For!"

So long, buddies.... just another star to pluck from my liberal sky!!

I think we should make on last attempt to get this country back. Dennis Kucinich. Ignore the pundits. Ignore the primaries. Write him in and let's take this country back. If we get anybody else, it's more of te same and I say it would be time for the Second American Revolution.

9. that's some ugly stuff you're spewing
not to mention painfully judgemental. You just had to attack them personally, instead of simply saying that you profoundly disagree with them. I respectfully disagree with McGovern and Mondale, and I'm greatful for their years and years of service. I don't know why they're supporting Clinton, but I'll take them at their word, and I won't impugn them.

Your post is sickening. it reflects poorly on you.

Hillary has said nothing to make me think her presidency will not be only a differnt shade of the same corporate crap we've been force fed for decades. We need a real change. A fundamental change. A Sea-change so to speak. We need Dennis Kucinich.

10. Mondale was never very liberal to begin with...
He made Dukakis look dovish due to his support for the MX missile and other Cold War-era missiles and defense systems.

Of course, what most people remember is Mondale's pledge to raise taxes, which isn't so much liberal/conservative as it is political suicide.

I'm not really surprised he supports Clinton, and I wouldn't be surprised if Gary Hart does either, but for very different reasons, I'm sure.

12. There won't be many endorsements from active politicians.
Most of them understand there's no advantage in making an enemy of someone who might become president.

So we get Mondale, McGovern, etc. endorsements for Clinton, but we won't get many more, IMO.

Nothing Hillary has said so far indicates she intends any fundamental changes. That is what this country needs. As far as I can see, she intends to let this "war" extend beyond January 20th 2008 and that is way, way to long for me. You want change? Vote or write in Kucinich.

I like Kucinich, but he has no chance. Edwards is the only legitimate candidate that looks like he would do anything other than continue to the Reagen/Bush 41/Clinton policies that have done nothing but put off the big problems on future candidates.

Anything outside of this Bus or another Republican (since they've been emboldened to do what they really want to do with this administration) would be a big improvement, only because things are so bad right now.
