Rice faces tall order mending fences in TurkeyStory Highlights (Street protestors: "Terrorist Rice"
Source: CNN

Turkey (CNN) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to Turkey has a dual purpose: convince the Turkish leadership to hold off on a military intervention into northern Iraq and bolster Turkey's confidence in the United States. Both are a tall order.

Warm feelings toward the United States on the streets of Turkey are in short supply, and the welcome mat is not out for Rice. This week, protesters in Ankara threw darts at a photograph of Rice and held signs that read, "Terrorist Rice, take your bloody hands from Turkey" and "Go home Rice."

Remember, This is an ally and we are becoming absolutely hated. Another example of blowback our idiot administration didn't forcee which has the potential to start a regional conflagration.

I know this may be boring shit but I believe it is some of the most dangerous international situations developing now.

3. Well, for crying out loud, she DOES have blood on her hands.
Edited on Sat Nov-03-07 02:02 AM by calimary
Remember back during the run-up to the war, when she was on "Meet the Press" and George Stefanopoulous (or howeverthehell you spell it) and the CBS Morning News, yammering incessantly about how "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud."

Now this is certainly picky and probably meaningless, but the whiff of carefully-tutored talking points floats past my nose.

If you ever get a chance to watch those clips - of contradicta AND her boyfriend, notice how they both deliver that line: "we dont' want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." At the end, both of them say "...to be a mushroom CLOUD." Verbal emphasis on the word cloud. Again, I may seriously be splitting hairs here about a dumb meaningless little picky-uny detail. But whenever I've uttered the phrase "...a mushroom cloud," the emphasis usually is on the "mush." "...a MUSHroom cloud." See, I'm probaby embarrassing myself. But it just screams out to me. How do you say that phrase? Which syllable would you stress?

What it may mean, at least to me in my own graspings here, is that they've had it repeated to them the concept of "smoking gun becomes mushroom cloud." It's been taught to them and others who were expected to go out on the stump and do the talk show circuit to further "catapult the propaganda" like the alphabet or their multiplication tables. You recite it like a robot. Pull string, say line. Dog, meet Pavlov. Ready, lights, SALIVATE! The repetition was the important part so that they'd become used to saying it so they wouldn't blow the line. Knowing how frank luntz-y these people are with their surveys and focus groups and word manipulations and semantics gymnastics it's not surprising that these phrases have been carefully chosen and tested for the correct and desired reaction.

REMEMBER: PERCEPTION IS EVERYTHING - so you have to manipulate the public PERCEPTION. Remember, you're an empire and you're creating your own reality here - that everyone else will study, judiciously as they will, while in the meantime you act again and then they all dutifully study THAT. Remember this. I think it's key to understanding these monsters. So then it becomes critically important that you hone the message carefully and use all the good buzz words and phrases that get a rise out of people and to which they react viscerally. The better to pierce and overwhelm their subconscious. Mind-fucking, in other words.

Nothing gets a rise out of people like evoking the horrifying mental boogeyman image of a nuclear explosion: a mushroom cloud. Or its counterpart of just a few days ago as uttered by bush himself: World War III. Remember how paul wolfowitz finally copped to it - that they all sat around together and determined that the best sales pitch to get the proper rise out of the gullible American people was to sell them on Saddam having nuclear weapons that he was absolutely gonna use against us personally or let somebody else use against us personally. wolfowitz said that was the only war-justification on which they could reach concensus. They were rolling out a new product in a timely fashion as Andrew Card once cynically said. We've been scared of the frickin' A-bomb for what? Sixty years or so? Duck 'n' cover, the predecessor of that slick duct-tape-and-plastic-sheeting self-protection strategy. All that one lacked was the cutesy little Madison Avenue jingle. The predators really do have their cakewalk. We, the targets, have already been softened up. We came that way, having long ago been terrorized by Commie horror stories and Cuban Missile Crisis of the 1950s and 1960s when we baby boomers were tender impressionable kids. These people now are merely exploiting that weakness, just as I think they did with 9/11 - using our fear to manipulate us.

So they've figured out the exact language, the exact clever word play like "yer with us or yer ag'in' us" or "we have to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" and "when they stand up, we'll stand down." They had that Michael Gershon speechwriter guy and others like him work up these UBER-clever phrases that would stick in the mind. I heard one of them only just today while at the local hairdressers' getting my grays covered. And the guy was absolutely sincere. Believed it with all his might.

Now, they have to sell it out there to the people who, if they weren't already softened up by their baby boomer-era geo-political terrors, they were DEFINITELY slam-dunked by 9/11. Everybody was REALLY scared over that one. That one wasn't 50/60 years ago. The wording had to be exact and delivered just so. So you tutor the people who have to go out and carry the ball so they nail it every time. Especially with dumb-ass, who mangles the English language the way other people breathe. He has to be tutored til he's absolutely foolproof (or is that bushproof?). They're all getting tutored the same way. contradicta obviously attended the same classes. She says that phrase with the same inflections. They don't even mean it anymore, most likely. They're programmed to blab it out without even thinking. It's just an empty phrase. Such is mind control. And they use their controlled minds and pre-conditioned spin to control and mind-fuck the rest of the unsuspecting, softened-up, scared shitless, gullible public. Who don't want to get off their duffs and out of their comfort zones and question anything - too threatening! It just sends such an incredibly strong signal to me (with my suspicious mind about these people) just HOW shrewdly and thoroughly this was calculated. These people sold that message with those well-tested and pre-programmed sales pitches almost as though they were on auto-pilot.

contradicta and her boyfriend and his boss and all their little friends DO have blood on their hands. Oceans of it. And you can spin yourself out of range of that for just so long. She's a war criminal. As is george and company.

7. The Grand Chessboard of the 1890s reborn, and remember how well THAT worked out!
Not to mention how it ended 20 years or so later.

From the cradle to college and back to the cradle.

10. WRONG.
Pakistan is as bad, or worse.
which country has nukes? Pakistan or Turkey?
and which country has an active missile research program?
and which country has an active military subset that wants to share nukes with other islamic nations?
