MINNEAPOLIS - A 19-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder Tuesday in the killing of a woman who answered an ad on Craigslist for a baby sitter.

Michael John Anderson is accused of shooting Katherine Ann Olson in the back at his home in suburban Savage, according to the criminal complaint filed in Scott County District Court.

The body of the 24-year-old Minneapolis woman was found Friday night in the trunk of her car, which was abandoned in a park about five blocks from Anderson's home. Olson's purse and a bag containing bloody towels, one of which bore Anderson's name, were found in trash nearby.

<snip>

When confronted with evidence, Anderson admitted he was present during Olson's slaying but said the killing was committed by a friend of his who "thought it would be funny," according to the complaint.

The case will probably go to a grand jury that can return a charge of 1st degree.

When the killer pins the killing on an imaginary friend or acquaintance whom no one else has ever heard of. Also known as the "Sirhan Sirhan" defense.

Very poor headline and quite unfair to Craigslist.

16. He killed Craigslist?
Sorry, but just reading the headline, that's what it sounds like.

Gotta love the media, who just have to try to find a way to sensationalize a story by preying on many peoples' fears. Instead of "Teen kills woman responding to babysitter ad", it sounds better to say "Teen charged in Craigslist killing." Because as we all know from the media, Craigslist is nothing more than an online gathering place for the mentally depraved - prostitution, anonymous sex, and now murder.

:sarcasm:

22. well that's what the bf sez now
almost certainly the bf or someone who didn't like the ex wifey robbed the house and left the driver's license at the scene, don't you think?

you don't take your driver's license out in the course of a robbery, someone did that intentionally to fuck her over if you ask me

She ended up paying the family she did it to back(or agreeing to anyway).

Appartently it was elderly people she befriended and burgularized.
