Government may waste anthrax vaccine

Government investigators say if two federal departments don't agree to coordinate the use of anthrax vaccine they could end up wasting $100 million a year.

The Defense Department and Health and Human Services each purchase the anthrax vaccine, BioThrax. But the Government Accountability Office says much of the vaccine purchased for HHS goes unused.

The GAO report obtained by The Associated Press says the two departments should create a single inventory system for these drugs so they are not wasted.
