Atlantic City Mayor Resigning, Lawyer Says
By RICHARD G. JONES

ATLANTIC CITY, Oct. 10 — First he was missing and now, evidently, he is gone. Mayor Robert W. Levy of this city resigned effective today, The Associated Press reported, saying the information had come from Mr. Levy’s lawyer, Edwin J. Jacobs.

...........

Democrats may be concerned that the embarrassing episode could affect this fall’s elections, including the races for the State Legislature, where all 120 seats are up for grabs.

Even Gov. Jon S. Corzine seemed to endorse Mr. Levy’s resignation. When asked, Mr. Corzine told reporters in Trenton, “I think if the mayor isn’t fulfilling his obligations, hasn’t lived up to the oath of office, I think that’s probably the appropriate step.”

4. I did. And I fail to see why Democrats 'may be concerned.'
An asshole resigned who was a bum. Good. Seems to me we'd be 'concerned' if the guy tried to pull a Larry Craig and brazenly hang on to his seat.

I think this is a Make-Story story. I'm not 'concerned.'

NYT is using this 'concern' as a hook, and I don't buy it.
