Loud cheers greets proposed UAW deal as workers get the details

FLINT -- General Motors employees hoping for job stability and new work heard good news this morning when UAW leaders presented details of the new contract they called "historic" and "unprecedented."

Union members were short on details about the contract before the morning's meeting but most felt confident the new deal would meet their demands.

Dale Bingley, a retired worker and former union delegate, said the deal is a big victory for the UAW.

1. Interesting. I don't think those employees are getting the whole story.

2. Thanks for the link. I read it. It doesn't surprise me at all.
I was a Union member for 22 years and we went on strike twice. We lost both times although the Union made it out that we won. The second strike we won nothing. We ended up going back to work in six weeks and we never made back what we lost.

4. The strike was a bad idea if this is what they would accept
to end the strike.
