Congress Wants Testimony From Blackwater Boss
Source: ABC News

The founder and chairman of Blackwater USA, the private security contractor, has been told to appear next month before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

In a letter today to Blackwater chairman Erik Prince, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said the hearing would concentrate on "the mission and performance of Blackwater USA and its affiliated companies in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Blackwater's role in providing security for the State Department in Iraq has been the focus of intense scrutiny this week after a firefight in Baghdad left as many as 20 civilians dead, allegedly killed by Blackwater guards.

----

In his letter, Waxman touched on that performance record.

"Another question will be whether the specific conduct of your company has advanced or impeded U.S. efforts," he wrote.

They're no more mercenary than the French Foreign Legion or the ATF, including from the time it was under the Treasury.

I hope that Mr. Prince doesn't ignore this 'summons'....otherwise, otherwise.....I don't know WHAT would happen, but Mr. Prince should be afraid of whatever it will be....very, very afraid :scared:

9. Anyone else remember when Dennis Kucinich, a member of a House Committee
looking into what these mercenaries have done, pointedly made the statement that executives of Blackwater et.al. should be considered as accessories to murder?

Here's a cross-posted thread that has extensive Blackwater links as well as profiles and articles on 19 other mercenaries.

13. As usual, nothing will happen to these goons.
If some asshole does show up, he will get 'grilled' and nothing will become of it.
