Iraqis Round On Blackwater 'Dogs' After Shooting
Source: AFP

BAGHDAD (AFP) — Hated by Iraqis who refer to them as "Mossad," Blackwater contractors are also mistrusted by fellow private security guards operating in Iraq who say they are arrogant, rude and dangerous.

"They kill innocent people in the street," Hameed Hussein, a pensioner in west Baghdad's Al-Maamoun neighbourhood said on Tuesday, two days after guards from the US security firm opened fire on civilians, killing 10 people and wounding 13.

"Where else in the world does this happen?" asked 60-year-old Hussein. "These are not security forces but rather forces to kill Iraqis. They are frenzied dogs."

--
"They behave just like the US soldiers," said Mohammed Abdullah, 32, an engineer who lives in western Mansour district. "They are part of the occupation forces, which is why they behave this way."

1. "there is an institutionalised arrogance (and) they feel they can't be held accountable"
I wonder why?

Blackwater screws up and so the Secretary of State of the United States of America has to step in to literally save their bacon?

2. Yeah, sure. Like she can accomplish anything meaningful.
contradicta doesn't get it. Nobody's going to want to waste much time trying to work with her because her boyfriend has fucked everything up and when push comes to shove, they all know whose side she'll take. She's about 135 pounds of sheer uselessness.

Blackwater is in pretty sad shape when they're forced to hope that contradicta can get them out of trouble.

3. Kindasleezy and another palletload of
$100 bills. Driven into the Iraqi Parliament on forklift, shrink wrap cut and blocks of cash handed out by Blackwater employees (topless young females) should correct the situation.

5. This is Paul Bremer's fault.
If he hadn't issued a decree that contractors are immune from Iraqi law when performing official duties, things in Iraq wouldn't be as bad.

6. disgraceful
I don't watch the news media, as in television. Is this being covered? Do Americans know what is being done in their name?

How many people had to die (or suffer, as the article tells about a man who was shot in the leg) for this to come to people's attention?

And now they are attempting to patch it up rather than ordering the company the hell out of there. Investigations to bring their grievous acts to light, then destroy it.

14. That tells more of the story to me. Bring them all home!
Here is a link of soldiers back from Iraq saying " after an IED or explosion goes off, the instructions were or it was common practice to basically shoot up the landscape and anything that moved. That kind of thing happened allot." Sounds like our government is promoting the practice that blackwater did.

8. Add It to the War Crimes List
No reason why it should be restricted to governmental figures--one could even make the argument that due to the contracts, Blackwater is in the governmental bailiwick.

Ought to be a hell of a climax and denouement when it comes, and that day is getting closer. I can almost smell the sweat of the fearful, cornered at bay....

13. My local coverage mentioned the story saying 8 killed, but then limited
their coverage to having a local employee of Blackwater explain how war was hell and it was totally justified. Between coverage like that and the OJ news substitute, it's no wonder that the local GOPers still have no clue.

10. You'd think this would be a big story in the MSM, but, alas,
there is OJ and we wouldn't want to miss a second of coverage of his legal trials and tribulations. Is Bushco paying these people . . . OJ, Britney, Lindsey, etc.?

17. Yeah...let's at least have some sort of trial
And then imprisonment would be alright with me. I know it ain't gonna happen, but I would love to know that children around the world were learning that Such-and-Such was the site of the prison holding former US President GWB, just as I remember learning about Hess and Spandau. Then he and his legacy would be shamed every single day he still lives.
