Edwards Campaign: Rudy Ideas are "Bush Without the Thinking"
Source: observer.com

I think this can now officially be called a spat.

John Edwards' spokesman Eric Schultz counters Rudy's sharp response to Edwards' sharp criticism of Rudy in the September edition of Foreign Affairs with the following:

"Poor Rudy, first he loses all touch with reality by bragging he spent more time at Ground Zero than our brave firefighters and first responders, and now he wants to brag about his foreign policy vision which can be best described as "George Bush without the thinking."

I pretty much agree with JE on the description. Ghouliani, along with Freddy T, the first thing I think of is just plain dumb.

Point of order, please:

Is it physically possible to have a foreign policy IQ in negative numbers? :eyes:

41. Yeah
We all know what Edwards means when he says: Rudy Ideas are "Bush Without the Thinking" but I think he'd have to say Rudy's worse than Bush, though it doesn't have any punch at all.

Bush without Bush's brain? Bush has no brain. Brainless Bush. It's very difficult to come up with something punchy.

9. Edwards has no problem throwing down.
He's ready to beat some ass. If Hilary and Obama are smart, they will stay the hell out of his way, 'cause Edwards, quite plainly, is playing for keeps. And if it comes to blows, Edwards will win a tussle with either of them.

As the Rude Pundit said when Edwards' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1qG6m9SnWI">"Hair" video came out:

"John Edwards will F*ck your sh*t up."

I'm a Kucinich fan, but Edwards is a close second. He GETS it. And he's harder for the MSM to dismiss and laugh off, and that's why he scares the living bejeesus out of them.

13. Agree
Hillary is Bush lite. Obama might make a good VP but he won't win the election.

We need a President such as Edwards who will neither take corporate money nor will he take any of their crap.

Corporate America that has traded their allegiance to this country for profits and more CEO pay needs to gain some serious respect for the American people and the country.

It seems that Edwards, for all his flaws, has about 6 years worth of foreign policy experience on Rudy.

15. Sorry, Edwards, but "thinking" after "Bush" has to be some new form of non sequitur.
That was great. I want Edwards to call out anyone and everyone that tries to "undo" him.

I'm in a fighting mood. But hashing it out with a freepoid today who doesn't understand shit, even separation of church and state.

19. It's called irony
Edwards is speaking to US, the people who know * is incapable of coherent thought. This way he lays a serious smackdown on Rudy while disrespecting * at the same time. He even lets a little slop over onto Condi.

Edwards was a very good trial lawyer. He has to have mastered the art of the high-minded insult.

18. Excellent snark and excellent strategy
Most American voters hate * and hate Rethugs in general. If a Democratic candidate starts taking them apart verbally, he's going to find a lot of people on his side. This little quip hits Rudy, but also heaps disrespect on *. Nice move, John.

24. I can't believe more Americans
don't realize how on-target Edwards is. He's exactly the gloves-off, bare-knuckle candidate we need going up against the GOP this cycle. He's not going to play nice and nice is precisely what we don't need. He calls it like it is, with wit, grace, and sharp language that doesn't mince words. Hillary and Obama WISH they had his style.

and especially Democrats, need this kind of approach. After so many years of GOP rule, having this kind of backbone gives me pride in my party and Edwards has the right message.

36. Have we lost the ability to understand (marginally) sophisticated humor?
Edward's statement is ironic, slamming Rudy but also slamming * as the low-bar in political "thought". He's playing on the fact that we all already know that * is a complete fucktard, but he's doing it very cheekily.

It's an excellent line and is certain to get a good laugh when delivered to a sympathetic crowd. We need more of this.

Watch him closely. He can speak quickly but there's not much content behind his words. He's the Paris Hilton of politics.
