PM defends N-deal, Left walks out (India)

Monday, August 13, 2007 (New Delhi)

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh defended the nuclear deal in Parliament on Monday, saying that all commitments to the Parliament had been fulfilled. ~snip~

Amidst loud slogans he reiterated that India's position has not been compromised and India's nuclear interests have been protected.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed slogan shouting and walk outs preventing Manmohan from finishing his statement.

Eventually, the PM laid his speech on the table of the House. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till Tuesday. ~snip~
