Sudan: Jews behind Darfur conflict
Source: YNet

Sudan's defense minister, Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein, has accused "24 Jewish organizations" of "fueling the conflict in Darfur" last week in an interview with a Saudi newspaper.

Hussein was interviewed during an official state visit to the Saudi kingdom last week.

A journalist from Saudi Arabia's Okaz newspaper asked Hussein: "Some people are talking about the penetration of Jewish organizations in Darfur and that there is no conflict there?"

"The Darfur issue is being fuelled by 24 Jewish organizations, who are making the largest amount of noise over the issue, and using the Holocaust in their campaigning," the Sudanese defense minister replied.

'Israel creating unnecessary drama'

Sudanese minister promises his country 'will find the way to deal with refugees'. Israel to continue aiding those fleeing Darfur until international solution is found

Roee Nahmias Published: 07.09.07, 12:49 / Israel News

Sudanese Interior Minister Zubair Bashir Taha blamed Israel for using his country's refugee crisis to undermine Sudan's international reputation, Ynet has learned Monday.

In a press conference held in Khartoum Sunday, Taha said some 3,000 refugees had found their way to Israel via Egypt. About 40 percent of them are from southern Sudan and some 35 percent are from Darfur.

The Sudanese authorities, he added, would "find the appropriate way to deal" with those who "dared immigrate to Israel."

The Sudanese ministry of interior launched an official investigation into the immigration of refugees to Israel, especially as to why they stay in Egypt for a prolonged period before crossing over to Israel.

1. Its that ol' "Blame the Jews" Rag! It's so sensational!...
...Confrontational! That ol' "Blame the Jews" Raaaaag!

Honestly, doesn't "the Jews are the problem" shit ever get tired? If we're still doing it after 2,500 years, I guess the answer is 'no.'

I'm delighted Israel is giving Darfur refugees a home. It deserves credit for offering real help when the rest of the world is silent.

I love the paranoia coming out of the Sudanese interior ministry. Yeah, Israel and Egypt are just soooo in love with each other, they're conspiring against poor Sudan. Here's a word of advice for the Sudanese government: stop funding the fucking Janjaweed militias and lets see how quickly things clear up.

3. The Sudanese government are truly evil
Of course they'd blame the Jews for their own evil actions. (What does this remind me of? The same thing that they'd been reminding me of, for a long time.)

I wish the world would pay more attention to the utter disaster in Darfur.

4. You can tell us all about it at your trial.
Maybe the Israelis will incriminate themselves by flying some of your victims to the Hague to testify against you.

5. Not remotely as good as the Nuremberg Defense
Good for the 24 Jewish organizations "making noise" - that's precisely what's needed along with a no-fly zone and UN peacekeepers.

Sorry, off to the gallows for you, Minister. Thanks for playing.

I think this article is misleading. I suspect that people knew about this water source and how it would increase the value of the land in Darfur once brought to light.

It's all about money.

Water find 'may end Darfur war'

A huge underground lake has been found in Sudan's Darfur region, scientists say, which they believe could help end the conflict in the arid region.

Some 1,000 wells will be drilled in the region, with the agreement of Sudan's government, the Boston University researchers say.

Analysts say competition for resources between Darfur's Arab nomads and black African farmers is behind the conflict.

More than 200,000 Darfuris have died and 2m fled their homes since 2003.

9. Well, it's not like the Sudanese government had any credibility to lose
After the genocide in Darfur, the government of Sudan doesn't need the help of Israel or any one else to undermine their international reputation.
