Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' testimony into a meeting with his sick predecessor is apparently contradicted by FBI Director Robert Mueller.

6. Both sides are in it to run out the clock
The Democrats only want to make the Republicans look as bad as possible, without actually doing something.

17. That IS doing something.
There's very little we can do when we don't really control government. We need to humiliate the Republicans. Once we've done that, we (the people) will be in a position to run things - without kissing Joe Lieberman's ass. We need to keep pounding until we own 60% majorities in both houses and the presidency. That's about enough to get a progressive agenda going.

Political power in a democracy is not for sissies. We shouldn't worry overmuch about policy until we possess power. I don't want to hear any of this "distinguished colleague" nonsense.

Mr T sez: "I don't pity that fool."

28. this is great news
i was hoping so hard that someone who was there would put the lie to the motherfucker. watching gonzales's latest hearing was an exercise in frustration knowing that every other word out of his mouth was a lie but fearing that no one would step up and say it aloud.

I think he's incredibly sloppy and unprepared, but that's par for the course with this administration.

Gonzalez is just as corrupt as the administration that's handing out the "get out of subpoenas for free" cards. This is just another nail in the coffin for these guys.

now where do we go from here, Specter sold his soul to the devils again, and calling it partisan. Attacks Schumer, and calls it newspaper headlines.

43. From the article
it looks like squeeky gonzalez could cry "hear-say" as far as Mueller is concerned...

"Mueller was not in the hospital room at the time of the dramatic March 10, 2004, confrontation between Ashcroft and presidential advisers Andy Card and Gonzales, who was then serving as White House counsel.

"Mueller told the House Judiciary Committee he arrived shortly after they left, and then spoke with the ailing Ashcroft."

Still good stuff though...
